Don't try pitting us against other workers. We aren't your convenient argument. We support each other in the trade union movement.
The RMT dispute isn't even about pay, its about hours and fatigue.

At 2pm, the NHS confirmed 1000 jobs would go ahead.
At 4pm, the Govt threatened to cut them?
3 weeks ago, goalposts of a pay deal suddenly shifted.
Huge amounts of government game-playing.
Let’s cut the government games and get a deal done to sort jobs & pay for doctors.

A phenomenal achievement for residents once again standing together.
We can fix this jobs crisis AND restore our lost value.
Not a single day of action needs to occur under this mandate - if Govt offers something credible on jobs and pay.

Underpaid nurses aren’t an argument for underpaid doctors.
All workers should be paid a decent wage.

Us juvenile delinquents perform brain surgery for £43/hr, singlehandedly take care of multiple wards overnight for ~£23/hr, deliver babies in distress for £38/hr.
Oh wait, no, sorry... that's what we're asking for, we actually earn much less. And some of us don't have jobs at all.
So hey @wesstreeting, how about less bleating?

“You cannot retain talent by keeping it in the dark.
And the public should resist a manufactured narrative that these strikes are about greed.
They are about whether, in a decade, our children and parents will have enough doctors to care for them”

Waiting lists are eye-wateringly long but 1/3 consultant posts are unfilled.
£674 million on locum spend.
The problem isn’t a lack of doctors, it’s a choice not to hire them.

There have been months of talks.
We’re on the precipice of another job cycle. Tens of thousands of doctors will be turned away.
Doctors need jobs & patients need doctors. Waiting lists up, patients in corridors.
We need changes now to recruit & value doctors, not in 2 years.

The last resident doctor strike had more doctors striking than July 2023.
You wouldn’t know it from the government’s spin and the media’s headlines.
Doctors are standing together for full pay restoration and a safe NHS.
The government must stop the rhetoric and move on pay.

No dr wants to strike. But we’ve been forced into this position by a Government that refuses to value and retain NHS staff.

At today's RDC meeting, we’ve voted to go ahead with strike action.
Last week when we met @wesstreeting we were open to finding solutions to restore pay and improve working conditions.
Today, we still do not have a credible offer on the table @Melissa_S_Ryan @RossNieuwoudt

There are more than enough under/unemployed GPs to replace every Physician Assistant in 1° care ASAP.
They need no supervision, can write their own scripts & order ionising radiation themselves.
That frees up ‘supervising’ GPs to see more patients too.
Win win @wesstreeting 🙌🏼
Replying to @pa_StephenNash @wesstreeting
If currently unemployed GPs replace each PA in Primary Care, there will be a great deal more than 20.8M appointments added for a safer & more cost effective solution to patients seeking medically trained help.
I think @DrSteveTaylor has figures on additional appointments/GP.
