We also heard from @MelissaMean about the work of @WeCanMakeHomes and why community businesses are key to local growth, particularly through the social value they bring to communities.

Delighted to have @CIVIC_SQUARE and the Re:Builders crew with us today
I don’t have enough words for how impressive I think @MelissaMean and the @WeCanMakeHomes team are, there systematic thoughtful human, neighbourhood scale demonstration of what is possible at a much wider and deeper scale. Very excited to be here today as part of the first visit of the Re:Builders programme alongside @DarkMatter_Labs, @FircroftCollege and Material Cultures.

We (re)launched our Neighbourhood Meet Up programme this autumn, and were delighted to see so many familiar and new faces @kwmcthefactory for our first even last Thursday!
We had a packed Factory for the occasion, celebrating all things 🍄mycelium🍄, including Cam from @hastingscommons sharing his Mycelium Badge project, and Jas from We Are More talking about her work with local families on the Allotment (funded by @newconstells Mycelium Fund).
Meet ups take place on the 3rd Thurs of every month, and are always free and open to all. The next is on 17 Oct where we'll be hearing from 3 neighbourhood experiments all aimed at growing the community stewardship of spaces, buildings + infrastructure. eventbrite.co.uk/e/wecanmake…
