On 1 Jul 1916, 20,000 British soldiers died on the first day of the Battle of the Somme. Each year I reflect on the scale of the loss, remember the sacrifice & recall visiting this poignant memorial to the fallen. It has stuck with me ever since. #WeWillRememberThem
