From Shangdi to Melchizedek
Jesuit missionaries, from Matteo Ricci to Joachim Bouvet, interpreted ancient Chinese civilisation—through its worship of Shangdi/Tian, Confucian virtues, and Zhou dynasty sacrificial practices—as a natural foundation for Christian faith…

States aspiring for hegemony will always claim to represent universal values and thus speak for all of mankind. States advocating for multipolarity will promotes sovereign equality by arguing for civilizational distinctiveness. When China argues that one civilization should not dictate to another how to develop, we should feel reassured that they have not chosen the hegemonic model of the US.

“Can managers treat employees any way they like?
Is the law of the jungle the right one for human beings?
Is there really ‘no such thing as society’?
Does the secret of success in life have to be ‘each for himself and the devil take the hindmost’?”
—English Bishops’ Conference
Margaret Thatcher went to a London church in 1981 to preach about Christian virtue. Outside, Britain was falling apart under her rule. Factories were closing, unemployment had passed two million and kept climbing, and she was cutting spending on ordinary people.
So young communists stood up in the church and shouted her down, and one climbed into the pulpit. She waited five minutes, then answered. Watch what she said.

Britain, a Country Devoted to Satan
“In this nation — as modern in the baseness of its covetousness as it is ancient in its harshness toward the weak — is the exclusive government of mercantile interests. For such is the shame and the indelible stain of England.”
—Léon Bloy
"national prosperity, the overthrow of Britain's foes and the enlargement of its power in the world depended the determination, sense of duty and courage of its leaders. Their upon greatness of spirit was the vital ingredient for national greatness."
-The Rise and Fall of the British Empire by Lawrence James
Turkey is rooted in Kemalism, Turkish Jacobinism, after sudden collapse of a 600-year-old Islamic empire and its replacement by a secular and nationalist republic. True identity of Turkey was genetically Byzantine or Anatolia, but culturally and linguistically converted to Islam.

This was the universality of the catholic faith, from doctrine to leadership to even dresscode of clergy.

FR. RIPPERGER ON GRATITUDE
Fr. Ripperger recently blessed the newly completed chapel of the Society of the Most Sorrowful Mother (Doloran Fathers) here in Colorado. His sermon for the occasion was quite providential, in light of his current situation.
“It doesn’t matter that you’re suffering. There’s some good there somewhere that God is giving you…. If we’re focusing on the good all the time, even in cases of adversity, then even when we are suffering … there were still be gratitude for what God has given to us here and now, regardless of what we’re suffering.”

“In all things give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you all.” (1 Thess. 5:18)
As most of you know by now, Archbishop James Golka of Denver has asked Fr. Chad Ripperger to take one year off “from public speaking and interviews.” archden.org/archdiocese-of-d…
As a personal friend and big fan of Fr. Ripperger, I was obviously sad when he shared this news with me privately several weeks ago (it was never his intention to make a public spectacle of it). Now that it’s a matter of public record, I want to publicly commend Fr. Ripperger for accepting Archbishop Golka’s request with humility and obedience, according to the example of the Saints.
And let’s all remember this: “Archbishop Golka is grateful for Fr. Ripperger’s priestly service, exorcism ministry, and for the generous spirit in which he received this request. We ask the faithful to join us in praying for Fr. Ripperger and for the Society [of the Most Sorrowful Mother].”
In addition to praying, please consider donating to support the Society’s vital work: dolorans.org/donate
And with Christmas coming soon, now is a great time to order some of Father’s books: sentradpress.com
Let’s also pray for Archbishop Golka, that he will see all the good fruit that Fr. Ripperger’s public speaking has produced and allow him to resume such endeavors in one year’s time.
Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us!

The Powneys who commissioned the porcelain dinner services were high-ranking East India Company administrators and free merchants. During late 18th c, the Company centralised its control over India and established a monopoly over the cultivation and processing of opium in Bengal.
Made in China for a British family, this Qianlong-period soup tureen bears the coat of arms of the Powney family. Adorned with intricate enameled patterns, it offers a glimpse into the taste for Chinese export porcelain in 18th-century Europe.

Next time a stranger at a bar asks if you're a patriot, do not say yes.
Chase Hughes walks through a hypothetical recruitment, and it starts with someone telling you he loves your podcast and then asking whether you'd consider yourself a patriot. That first yes is what he builds everything else on - your identity.
Next he asks if you'd be willing to look at something that might be uncomfortable. Then he shows you your browsing history and webcam captures from your phones and computers, offers to keep it all out of the public eye, and puts $20,000 a month on the table. All you have to do is keep a few people off the show and leave a few things out, for your country.
What gets me is that the protection covers more than your reputation. It also hands you a story you can live with, where every concession counts as service.
"They don't build influencers. They find the ones who are already successful and recruit them."
Apparently the benefits package includes getting to keep calling yourself independent.
So be honest, has anybody here ever been approached with an indecent proposal?
