ALT On 21-22 November 2023, teams at ESA's ESOC mission control centre in Darmstadt Germany added as much as 5 to 10 extra years to ESA's CryoSat ice-mapping mission. In this photo, experts from ESA and CryoSat's manufacturer, Airbus, gather around a screen to monitor the pressure inside the primary and back-up propulsion systems.

ALT The Copernicus Imaging Microwave Radiometer, CIMR, mission will carry a wide-swath conically-scanning multi-frequency microwave radiometer to provide observations of sea-surface temperature, sea-ice concentration and sea-surface salinity. Uniquely, it will also observe a wide range of other sea-ice parameters. CIMR responds to high-priority requirements from key Arctic user communities. Credits: Thales Alenia Space
