With the new UIL Legislation that passed the Burleson Elk Run will be adding Middle School XC races for the 2027 Meet.
XC course set up is a true art
Things I’ve learned along the way. To make the process seamless as possible.
1. Use caution tap over flags (they are annoying to store)
2. Lots of wire fencing posts
3. Spray paint lots of it
4. Lots of cones
Best of luck to all my XC people!

WAKE UP! ITS RACE DAY
The Elks compete at the Greenhill Lukes Locker 6 Mile Relay! - LETS GO ELKS
Moments like this are why I coach.
When they doubt themselves or can’t see what’s possible, I want to be the one who believes in them until they believe in themselves.
it’s about helping them discover what they’re capable of and walking beside them along the way.

Annual “Run Your Schedule” Run!
This morning, our upperclassmen each grabbed a freshman and helped them run their schedule!
It’s a great tradition that helps ease those first-day jitters, gives our freshmen a chance to get familiar with their classes. 🦌
Year 11:
Lord, give me wisdom to lead, patience to teach, strength to coach, and a heart that serves others well. Help me make a difference in every life You place in my path. Guide my words, my actions, and my example. Here’s to a year of growth, purpose, and impact. Amen.🙏🏼
2026 Elk Retreat was a success. Excited for what this cross country season will bring. #Believe #1%bettereveryday
Friday: Easy run and finishing with a game of Kick Ball. We love summer running. Work hard and have fun doing it.
After 6 years of XC coaching what I’ve learned the most when it comes to training is.
We run embarrassingly slow and far on days
We run HARD On days.
NO In between Days.
