An MP who promised to change the system seems to hv discovered that changing himself to fit the system is much easier.
Changing corruption is hard.
Learning to live with it is apparently easier.

Did you vote with the same hand you wrote this tweet with?

And what exactly am I trying to justify? I know what I campaigned for and I havnt changed my stance.
The people's Majilis is acting like the peoples Majilis can't change the law that affects a few hundred MP's the people elected. Even when the people wrote it in plain dhivehi
Members throwing a tantrum now acting like kids
If I can't have it you can't have it ahhh
Let's call it what it is
Welfare program for politicians
#EkkohKandaalaa
After MPs’ salaries, the next petition should address former presidents’ allowances and benefits. It’s time to start this debate.
Taxpayers have paid so far
Maumoon: 72 million
Nasheed: 43 million
Waheed: 25 million
Yameen: 9 million
Solih: 10 million
Total: 159 million.
These payments will continue, and future former presidents will become eligible too.
As a nation, we must ask, can we afford this? Are these allowances proportionate to our economic reality, national income and the living standards of ordinary Maldivians?
Public money should reflect public priorities.

"First sort yourself out" as in giving lands to shady figures to make bank?
@PokmanMV
Half the people on Mvtwitter who are outspoken and vocal about how the country should be run and criticize policy don’t have a month’s expense in savings and earn about 15k a month.
They are literally one missed pay cheque away from being homeless.
First sort yourself out then talk about country. Until then stfu 🤫

In September 2025, Azaan told me that after Majlis re-opens, a bill to abolish benefits granted to former MPs will be in parliament.
It’s now October 2026.

We’ll keep adding these treacherous media outlets and journalists to our list as they post.
We must not allow Alabbar to use his enormous wealth to influence us this easily.
The fight for freedom has already begun. 🇲🇻

Azaan knows what he's doing. When a petition with over 7000+ signatures are in the parliament MP's ain't taking time to complaint for no reason. It's to create distractions from the real issues raised
You signed up to be a representative of the people. Act like one
It might sound simple, but it really isn't. We need to understand that this is a deeply ingrained practice in our society. For generations, MPs, community leaders and people in prominent positions have been expected to contribute towards Eid celebrations, Ramadan activities, mosque renovations, sporting events and almost every other community activity. These expectations did not develop overnight, and making such contributions illegal won't magically make them disappear.
Now, you could argue that none of this is the responsibility of an MP. And you would be absolutely right. Legally, we have no obligation to finance these activities. But there is a difference between what the law requires and what society expects. When a practice is so deeply rooted in our culture, the social pressure to conform is enormous. Most MPs end up contributing, not necessarily because they want to, but because refusing to do so comes with its own social consequences.
You cannot simply legislate away a deeply ingrained social expectation and assume that people will change their behaviour overnight. Changing the culture that has sustained these practices for decades is an entirely different challenge.

Attention ‼️
Alabbar is pouring in thousands of USD to the #Traitors, to start a smear campaign against the activists who'd challenge the sale of our land the hardest.
Dormant 7 year old accounts have woken up to assassinate their character. New accounts are being created. 1/3

The bank does not give a special card to members of parliament either. I face the same challenges in doing foreign currency transactions. Passport issue will be resolved soon & I am not using tax payer money for travels.

53 islands lagoons like this has been sold! 😭
for roughly 5-10m$ each.
yes sold!
"99 year lease" is a legal workaround term.
To take back our islands from the thieves we would need to pay 530m$ to investors.
For comparison We paid 300m$ to take our airport from GMR
Whoever or whatever political movement is next formed MUST pledge this first!
We survived thousands of years without selling our country. Why now? We could have sold our parts of our country to Portugal, France, UK, India even in the past through various historical instances. But our forefathers didn't gave an inch of this beautiful land to #faranjees. Why now?
Why let the traitors sell our beautiful country now?
