It never fails to amaze me how often the broadcast manages to chose a play that didn't work out when trying to highlight how good McDavid is. Like he makes so many incredible plays and they seem to always pick a bad one to not match what they say.

"It's pretty easy to gain the zone on the power play when you have a cheat code like this that works all the time!" They say as they show a clip of McDavid skate over the blue line, lose the puck and skate back out of the zone. There's literally 10k examples of good zone entries

Ok here me out. Penalties in OT: Instead of going to 4v4 until the next whistle, when the player comes out of the box, he doesn't just re-join the play. He has to dash across to the player bench & if the other team doesn't get their 4th guy off before he does it's Too Many Men.

For a team that has been famous for being Jekyll & Hyde. This might take the cake:

I don't generally listen to the post game interviews, but has anyone asked at all at what point Babcock has to put McDavid and Draisaitl on their own lines if he's unable to find any other line worth playing?

Mike Babcock is still confused why the only line that's able to produce is the one with all of his best players.

Thank God Babcock isnt overplaying the Oilers top guys. 31 minutes in a regular season game is normal right?

It's kind of weird how banking on an 18% sh% doesn't work long term

I don't know how Murphy and Shea see Podkolzin get the penalty he did and then don't touch Arvidsson in front of the net at all.

That's a high stick. 100%

I still think it's a high stick but inconclusive.

The retaliation perspective aside, why do we allow defensemen to cross check in the front of the net for free, but forwards are an immediate penalty?

I'm like 97% confident this was my first ever football game.
Taking it the distance one last time. On this day, Gizmo scored the final touchdown of his career on a 100-yard kickoff return. #GoElks

Oof....IR means at least a week
The #Oilers have placed goaltender Devon Levi on injured reserve (IR). Goaltender Matt Tomkins has been recalled from the @Condors under emergency conditions.

Is there any chance that we were unaware that Devon Levi's wife was very pregnant and he's a new Dad?

So, Dawson Mercer, a prospect, a 2nd, a 7th and some cap balancing. Yeesh

Howard—McDavid—Hyman Podkolzin—Draisaitl—Savoie Hallander—Nugent-Hopkins—Kapanen Dach—Dickinson—Frederic Samanski/Michaels/Joseph Is the lineup I'd like to see with a top 6 winger addition at the deadline.

I think it's time for that 3rd line to come to an end. Nugent-Hopkins and Hyman are back and they've been getting caved in. I think maybe you move Dach back to the wing, replacing Formenton. Then either Hallander or Samanski at 4C after waiving Max Jones.

Actually, better yet would be Nugent-Hopkins as 3C with Draisaitl centering his own line, but alas.

"The last 5, those are real hockey teams." 😂 What a quote. I love it!
"Probably a little too eventful for both teams." 😂 Leon Draisaitl joins @GenePrincipe following the Oilers' shootout win!
