I used to make fun of McAfee for missing two kicks in 13-9. Now I do it because he’s an insufferable thin-skinned douche bag. That’s called growth!
Pat McAfee: "New York Times always saying it! 'This a**hole is shirtless at 9:02 a.m. Eastern!' Sorry, Coach. I'm ruining the whole sport; I'm ruining the whole sport because of this."

Imagine being able to say-for the rest of your life-"In my 20s I ran in a sausage race in a World Series Game." Not the greatest boast, but cool.
They better televise it every home game of this series.

Milwaukee Brewers fans showed up to tailgate World Series Game 1 at nine in the morning. The parking lot gates were still locked. First pitch was ten hours away. In old Japan, when ten thousand people camp outside a fortress at dawn with iron cauldrons, smoke, and provisions, it is called a siege. Milwaukee laid siege to its own castle. Out of pure love. With bratwurst and folding chairs. When reporters told Christian Yelich that fans had been lined up since nine, he said he was surprised it took them that long. In my land, a general knows the battle is already half won when his people light the morning fires before the gates even open. Nobody guards a castle like the Midwest in October.

NFL broadcasts using the rules analyst: *guy gets welcomed in immediately, explains every last detail of the relevant rule concisely including why the clock needs to be adjusted* MLB trying to use a rules analyst only in the World Series: *waits 5 minutes to go to him, producers have to remind Joe Davis he even exists, manages to speak over the announcement everyone has been waiting for and then still tries to explain something everyone is now clear on*

If Pitchcom goes out, need to finish the AB with signs. No more of this BS of pitchers using it for a free timeout when in trouble. #WorldSeries

Why doesn’t @stubhub require sellers to upload the barcode like other ticket resellers do? Crazy to me they just take it on faith from the sellers that tickets will be sent
Replying to @StubHub
@StubHub I bought World Series tickets on October 4th for Game 1 in Milwaukee, and you just canceled them with no option of replacement less than 24 hours before the event. Please make this right.

Current incentives lead schools toward leniency and sow chaos. Accountability, litigation, and transparency could help correct the incentives and ensure that schools guarantee order and safety. My latest with @MrDanielBuck in @CityJournal.

Are cash-strapped schools driving the increase in school referendums? WILL found districts with higher spending levels were MORE likely to ask voters for new funding. With $1.6 billion on the ballot this fall, taxpayers deserve answers on where their money is going. Full analysis below:

New research showing the significant amount tariffs have added to beef prices.
Now here's a fun and timely paper, finding that Trump's 2025 tariffs increased US beef prices by as much as $2/lb. Might be relevant over the next couple weeks, I dunno. papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.…

We took a look at which districts have gone to referendum over the past 5 years and--surprise surprise--it's not even the lowest funded districts on average. Voters should question whether their districts REALLY need more $ at a time of near-record revenue for districts.

“I’m not taking my kids up to the 400 level—you need binoculars.” Lose sympathy for the Timeless Ticket holders with quotes like this. I spent my childhood in the 400 level at 70s multipurpose stadiums w/ far worse sightlines. You don't need binoculars. I'd also kill for that for the WS. wsj.com/sports/baseball/milw…

Love how the fact that the federal tax credit scholarship could benefit public schools is being presented as a “big surprise” here when groups like ours have been shouting this from the rooftops for 10 months. madison.com/opinion/column/a…
