With the budget next week, the Chancellor needs to give British people the breathing space to tackle the cost of living.
People across the country are struggling with everyday expenses, and we need urgent action to slash energy bills, cut travel costs, and introduce a VAT cut to support hospitality and high streets.
Delighted to attend the opening of the expanded Christ Church right in the heart of #Woking. This will benefit the church and wider community, glad I was able to help them secure Your Fund #Surrey funding to contribute to the £5.7 million revamp.

Ahead of the Budget next week, I have urged Ministers to unlock stalled brownfield development sites - including the 2,000 unbuilt homes in #Woking - to relieve pressure on our greenbelt and build the homes we need.
I'm glad to be working with @Telegraph to expose South Western Railway's shambolic service.
Nationalisation was supposed to fix the railways, but the reality in #Woking and across the network, services have only got worse...

Rejoining the EU single market and customs union would boost growth, raise revenues and allow tax cuts for everyone.
The PM admits Brexit has damaged our economy—so what is he waiting for?

Donald Trump and Elon Musk undermined Ukraine's defences – directly aiding Putin's war machine.
That's beyond the pale. The Prime Minister must stand up to Trump and forge a united front in Europe.
We cannot allow Musk and Starlink to gain even more power over our continent.
Last month, I joined @yourSanctuaryUK at their conference on tackling domestic abuse.
One of their key asks was implementing the 2020 Harm Review. That's why I've questioned the Attorney General on what more she'll do to increase prosecution rates for domestic abuse.

Families are facing another cost-of-living squeeze.
Our £14bn emergency package would cut energy and transport costs and support struggling high streets.
It's time to put money back into people's pockets.

Everyone should be able to enjoy life’s little pleasures, not just scrape by.
Our Breathing Space Budget would save households £350 on average, cutting the cost of energy, travel and going out.
It’s time to give families the breathing space they deserve.
About to jump on a train to head to Parliament - this week I’m looking forward to questioning @FloEshalomi, calling for a rail link between Heathrow and Woking in a debate about airport expansion and the @LibDems are setting the agenda on Wednesday in Opposition Day.
In my latest column in the #Woking News and Mail, I’ve written about the news that Woking will be the dual HQ for our new West #Surrey Council, Brookwood could be crowned station of the year and my train survey - read more here ⬇️

Putin's bombs are killing Ukrainian civilians, and Donald Trump is funding them by buying Russian diesel.
The UK must stand up and call this what it is: another Trump betrayal of the Ukrainian people and European security.

It's good to see the Prime Minister sharing our commitment to fixing social care once and for all.
But he must not wait any longer to act.
We urge him to get a date in for further cross-party talks immediately.
This is the only way to fix social care for the long term.

Fantastic news!
Brookwood Station has been shortlisted for Station of the Year in the World Cup of Stations 2026 - a brilliant achievement for the team involved.

In #Woking town centre more than 2,000 homes already have planning permission but remain unbuilt.
The Government's broadly defined "greybelt" policy doesn't address this landbanking, but risks undermining the character of our towns and villages by destroying the greenbelt.
I'm looking for a new Parliamentary Assistant & Communications Officer to join my team!
This is a hugely important and varied role supporting all my activities in Parliament - as well as managing my communications activity.
