After more than 20 years of transformative leadership for Blumenthal Arts, President and CEO @TomGabbard has shared his plans to retire from the innovative organization by the end of 2027. Calling this an active retirement, Gabbard will continue to be an industry producer and consultant for arts organizations around the country and the world, including Blumenthal Arts. Blumenthal has historically helped to shape the future of the performing arts, serving as a model for organizations across the industry through innovative business practices, bold programming, and a commitment to community impact. That work is directly tied to Gabbard’s leadership. Blumenthal’s Board of Directors plans a comprehensive leadership transition, and an intentional international search for the next CEO of Blumenthal Arts which will ensure the continuity and stability of the organization. We are all excited for Tom, and his wife Vickie, as the embark on a new chapter. They plan to remain in Charlotte, and we know they will continue to be valuable partners to us!
