From being sworn in this morning, to our first Clark County Commission meeting and my first vote as your District D Commissioner, today reminded me how proud I am to represent our community.
Extremely proud to stand with my @SEIU1107 brothers and sisters to welcome SEIU members from California to Puerto Rico to Clark County for the @SEIU Cross Caucus Weekend! Thank you for supporting our candidates, knocking doors, and demonstrating the strength of #PurplePower!
This week we opened Phase 4 of McKnight Senior Village. This project has been a labor of love for 30 years and these 60 new units bring the total to over 270 units for our seniors. We couldn’t be more proud to complete this project and welcome residents to their new homes!
This year, the homegrown R&B sisters of 702 are celebrating their 30 year anniversary as a group. Tonight, to honor their legacy, we lit the world famous Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign yellow. Thank you for representing Vegas on the world stage and congratulations, 702!
Thank you to all of our partners who joined Commissioner Tick Segerblom and me tonight for ¡Celebrando Nuestra Cultura!, our annual cultural festival celebrating Latino Heritage Month. This event keeps growing every year, and we couldn’t do that without you! ¡Gracias a todos!
Truly honored to be part of the ribbon cutting this morning for One Safe Place. Opening this dedicated center moves us one step closer to the goal of eliminating domestic violence in Southern Nevada. Congratulations to everyone who worked so hard to make One Safe Place a reality.
Thank you to the Joe Louis Foundation and all of our first responder partners from LVMPD, the CCFD, LVFR, AMR and so many more for our fourth annual Heroes for Heroes event. This was another great event to honor the legacy of Joe Louis and help support the kids in our community.

Clark County @CommishTick gathered with community leaders and tribal partners at the iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign for a powerful ceremony celebrating #IndigenousPeoplesDay. The famous landmark was beautifully illuminated in yellow, orange, and turquoise to honor the rich histories, vibrant cultures, and enduring contributions of the Tribal Nations that have called Southern Nevada home since time immemorial. 🪶✨
The evening featured a traditional opening prayer led by Matt Crews. A special proclamation was also presented to Tammi Tiger, Director of Tribal Education at @unlv.
Remarks were shared by Barbara Hartzell, Executive Director of @nva_nevada, Assemblywoman Shea Backus, and Tribal Administrator for the Fort Mojave Tribe, Ashley Hemmers. U.S. Congresswoman Dina Titus and U.S. Congressman Steven Horsford were in attendance as well.
The celebration concluded with a performance by young traditional dancers, honoring the resilience and bright future of Indigenous peoples who continue to shape our region.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating and respecting our shared history!

With over two dozen federally recognized tribes across our state, we celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day today, knowing we stand on sacred ground. And we take time today to honor the rich, diverse history of ancestors across our state who have helped make Nevada home.
Our annual Latino Leadership Summit for students this week was a huge success. Thank you to all of our partners, schools, administrators, teachers, and students for really showing up, speaking openly about our community and our schools—and committing to your future!
Today was a great day for SNRHA as we officially opened Marion D. Bennett Sr. Plaza Phase II. Truly an honor to stand with colleagues and friends as we honor the legacy of Rev. Dr. Bennett and continue to deliver on our promise of bringing more senior housing to the community!

Clark County has been proud to help the Forever One Memorial since efforts began to put a permanent memorial on the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting location.
Our support including creating the #1October Memorial Committee and providing funding to help with construction costs.
This afternoon I was extremely proud to stand with my colleagues and Route 91 survivors as we broke ground on the Forever One Memorial to honor the 58 lives we lost on 10/1/17. Construction will begin immediately, and the scheduled opening date is October 1, 2027. #VegasStrong
