A massive thank you to everyone who's attended this series of Party Hustings. It's been a privilege to answer questions from all of you. For those who couldn't attend, here's my opening speech at Party Conference in Scarborough last Saturday. #WinningWithWilliams
Thank you to everyone who attended my Q&A session last night.
I’d like to invite you to my fourth and final Q&A next week on Thursday from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm on Microsoft Teams.
The event’s focus will be final questions you have for me, so feel free to bring questions on any topic.
Open to all SDP members. Joining details in the reply.

In 1942, William Beveridge named the Five Giants plaguing British society; addressing them formed the foundational blueprint for our post-war society.
Today, we face three new ones: the cost of living, economic insecurity, and the unchecked rise of AI.
We cannot meet these challenges with a decades-old political consensus.
Under my leadership, the SDP will name our problems plainly and offer real, Social Democratic solutions.

Join me for my third Q&A tomorrow at 7:00pm - 8:30pm on Microsoft Teams.
The event will be a post-conference debrief, so feel free to bring questions on any topic.
Open to all SDP members. Joining details in the reply.

Had a class day at conference, couldn't think of a better bloke to work with on this either.
SDP Conference 2026 has come to an end.
It has been an incredibly fun day, but I would not be able to do what I do without the support of my team and supporters.
I cannot express just how much I value and appreciate each and everyone of them. Thank you.

And with that, our 2026 Conference comes to an end.
That's all folks! (for now!)

People across Britain are desperate for a complete departure from the Blair-era consensus that left our industries hollowed out and our public assets sold off.
Under my leadership, the SDP will offer a radical course correction from the past.
An end to the Blair consensus.
Its time for Social Democracy.
I want a return to practical politics.
We are a Social Democratic Party. I am a Social Democrat.
That is my vision for the party.

"Today we saw a Chancellor so far below the level of events that he should have delivered the Budget from the Mariana Trench, not Parliament Square. The Budget has been briefed by its author as a ‘do no harm’ Budget. Confronted by a long stagnation slowly brewing up into a crisis, one of the surest ways to do further damage is to duck fundamental problems. That is the harm done today by a government which is contracting into a small target, the better to seek election for an opportunistic, Gogglebox prime minister."

The SDP is not a subscription service or a group chat. It is a real political movement.
We have the best policy offerings in British politics - now we need to turn our membership into an active campaigning force.
With an active membership and a clear strategy, we can start making real change.

Thank you to everyone who attended the first of our Party Hustings! It was a pleasure to debate and discuss the policies that matter most across our party.
To find out more about me and my campaign, join my Q&A tomorrow at 7:00 PM. I'll be discussing my plan for the SDP, but feel free to bring any questions you have.
Was a real pleasure having this chat with Momus! Always good fun to be on his podcast.

“I am reminded of an old story. A boy is woken early by his grandfather, who tells him they must plant a tree for shade. The boy grunts and rolls over, saying that no tree will give much shade for many years. The grandfather replies, ‘Exactly. That is why we must start as soon as possible."

This was me a year ago, walking up this very hill with a chest infection to canvass for the SDP.
I was hurting that day, but I was driven on by a desperate desire to see our party succeed.
Because Britain is in a crisis.
People up and down this great country are losing hope for the future.
And we must be the ones to give them that hope back.
