China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPP), a subsidiary of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) is the EPC contractor for Ntorya Madimba Pipeline.
China is covering more ground in the East African Oil & Gas market.
Replying to @WilsonMakembe
#AEX ARA petroleum did a mini-CPR providing TPDC with confidence on the gas reserves (about 3 TCF unaudited contingent), justifying the 30km pipeline project from Ntorya to Madimba processing plant. The tendering was restricted and TPDC is about to announce the EPC contractor.
An additional 223 BCF of natural gas has been discovered at the Mnazibay gas field. The tally adds to our 57 TCF (proven reserves since 2010, both onshore and offshore).
The Petrolor rig is now in the free zone state, waiting for its next deployment and expedition in country.
Rig down and demob could be complete by early November. #HereWeGo
PAET license has been due for 3 days now, with the sale waiting on approval. Breaking even seems to be a priority for Orca.
September just happened, with the KASA 1X drill wrapping up. Aside from the challenges in executing this directional drill, things still pushed through. The images below show the cement pumps (in blue) and the assembly on the rig. Should be a wrap by early October.
Its real down at Ntorya. From 1 up to 4 up what a bang and a way to close 2026. Looking to hear updates on rig.
#AEX RNS We're On.
First Gas December. 4 drills planned and a possible 5th

Aside from the GSA with TPDC, another great offtake for the NT gas is (can be) "KS Energy Power Africa," a Botswana power generation and asset management company. The agreement was concluded in Jan 2024.
10 months since the rig was cleared for departure for its first ever expedition in the EA region. 2 out of 3 wells done; both producing, 3rd is underway. All goes well, end of Q3 to Q4, Mnazibay could be done-perfect timing for CH-1 with the expected commissioning of the pipeline
JUST IN: The rig has arrived at M&P's Mnazibay gas field and is fully erected, with drilling activities to commence ASAP. The 3000HP rig was moved from Tanga Port to Msimbati, Mtwara, Tanzania, over 900km.
The expedition looks at 3 new wells.
2026 just got 🔥🔥lit #HereweGo🇹🇿

The Chinese rig was inspected and tested in September by M&P and PURA (regulator) in Tianjin Province, China.
Is expected to arrive by the end of November, with spud to commence as early as December. The campaign will take us through Q1 of 2026 (tentatively).
We've seen so much rain this year. Most construction work was paused, some for over a month.
However, with the pipeline from Ntorya to Madimba, TPDC looks to commission it by September 2026 (all things considered).
Work will pick up pace by the end of June and throughout July.
Oman’s African Geophysical Services (AGS) has been running a 2D seismic survey of the area, expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
TPDC had launched the second exploration phase of the Eyasi–Wembere block in search of oil reserves & reservoir.
Phase II of the project focuses on the acquisition of 2D seismic data around Lake Eyasi, a total of 914 km of seismic lines to be covered in the survey. #HereWeGo
MS-2 is almost complete with well test being expected to be carried out around early May. Could be done by mid may and demob/mob to Kasa.
At this rate, spud for CH-1 could be around July (at best).

Fascinating find, @WilsonMakembe! We produced an article about the "Flying Pipeline" and a few other oil transportation options considered along with the pipeline for our 45th anniversary storytelling. Check it out: alyeska-pipe.com/45-2001-wil…
Before the feasibility of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline was certain, Boeing had a proposal to fly the oil out, making them the operators of "The First Flying Pipeline".
The project was formally proposed and confirmed in 1968, after the major oil discovery at Prudhoe Bay.
Route selection and technical assessments followed shortly after in the same year, with more detailed works, including engineering studies, geotech investigations, and other regulatory aspects, progressing in early 1969.
