Autumn Glow Update – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the left fore following her Champions Mile win at Flemington today. Subsequently on return to her stable, trainer Chris Waller reported that x-rays and scans of Autumn Glow revealed no abnormality. 📰 Ciaron Maher on Tempted after she finished fifth in today's G1 Champions Stakes:
“I thought she raced well. We were probably in the worst part of the track. Her peak might have been beating Ka Ying Rising, and she wasn’t quite at her best, but she hit the front. No excuses.”
Chad Schofield added: “She’s obviously had a long, successful preparation, but it’s come to an end.”

What an absolute superstar!
The mare for ALL seasons, Autumn Glow has continued to set spring alight with an emphatic victory in the $3 million Group 1 VRC Champions Mile over 1600m at @FlemingtonVRC.
With only one (slight) blemish on an otherwise impeccable record, Autum Glow has now won 15 of 16 starts – this being the 6th at racing’s elite level.
Taking her earnings to $14.6 million, the @cwallerracing trained mare was originally sold by @NewhavenPark to @silverdale_farm / Shrone Bloodstock at the 2022 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale before being knocked down to Arrowfield / Hermitage Thoroughbreds at the 2023 @inglis_sales Easter Yearling Sale.
By @ArrowfieldStud’s The Autumn Sun, Autum Glow is a ¾ sister to Group 1 winner In The Congo from Champion Sprinter, Via Africa.

Flemington Cox Plate (2040m) ➔ Champions Stakes (2000m)🐴
Wonder if -40m back to 2000m is the key for Aeliana and Birdman, or if the extra 40m was what Cosmic Crusader really needed last time out? Will 40 metres make all the difference today? 🤔 #HorseRacing #ChampionsStakes
