In honor of our 20th anniversary, we wanted to share some of the most iconic WordPress.com websites we’ve come across.
Check out the thread below, and comment with a WordPress.com site YOU think is worth giving a shoutout! 🧵
Keep your website updated right from your AI chat box. Connect the WordPress.com MCP to @ChatGPT, @claudeai, or @Cursor and manage your @WordPress site from there. Learn more in the thread!
You’re the boss. Your AI Chat will launch a draft and ask for permission to make changes. Nothing happens without your approval. MCP is included on Personal plans and up, and new free sites get it for their first 30 days.
Your website deserves a Black Friday GRWM, too.
Shop your own store like a customer would, then do it again on your phone. Anything clunky? Better to find it now than in the middle of holiday traffic.
Whether it’s your first online store or one gearing up for its busiest season, WordPress.com has the ecommerce tools to get it ready: wordpress.com/ecommerce/?utm…
Do you know how much you’d have to pay if your site gets hacked?
It can be $$$, but not on WordPress.com. For us, your site’s security is our number one priority. Bring us an infected site, and we’ll scan it and clean it at no extra cost.
Learn what’s included in our plans at the link below: wordpress.com/blog/2026/10/2…
The best way to learn how to build for the web? Build something real.
Through WordPress.com Education, two master’s students in UX design at UDIT built a website for Odón Solar, a Spanish clean energy nonprofit that didn’t have the resources to build one on its own.
We teamed up with @WordPress Credits, UDIT’s Master’s in UX program, and Economistas sin Fronteras to match the students with the nonprofit.
125 hours later, the students had a real client project in their portfolios and OdĂłn Solar had a site it could actually use.
Yesterday the PHP project released security updates addressing two critical "PHP2Shell" vulnerabilities.
If your site is hosted on @wordpressdotcom, @WordPressVIP, @wpcloudofficial, @Pressable, @tumblr, or any Automattic infrastructure, you’re already protected.

The email landed.
The post took off.
Everyone clicked.
We love this for you.
Now let's make sure your website loves it, too.
Black Friday is still a few weeks away, which makes now a pretty good time to check how your site is performing. Test your load times. Click through the pages you expect people to visit most. And yes, pull it up on your phone.
Basically: prepare for the traffic you're hoping to get.
WordPress.com managed hosting is built for performance, security, and traffic spikes, so when more people show up, there's less happening behind the scenes for you to worry about.
Manifest the traffic. But prepare for it, too. 🧵

Imagine this: 500 people land on your website tomorrow. How are we feeling?
🟢 Bring it on!
🟡 Okay… slightly sweaty.
đźź *takes a panicky deep breath* I should probably test the checkout flow.
đź”´ Can we actually skip Black Friday this year?
There’s still time to get your digital house in order before the holiday rush.
And if your current hosting setup is part of what’s making you sweat, WordPress.com can help — including expert-assisted migrations at no extra cost.
