Iraqi historian Omar Mohammed risked his life running the Mosul Eye archive from inside the city under ISIS—documenting executions, the destruction of heritage, and the systematic erasure of history. He later worked to recover Mosul’s long Jewish past. Then, after “Go back to Poland” was chanted at Jews, he went to Auschwitz, Treblinka, and Bełżec.
@geraldposner and I have written books about the Holocaust. We know the power of learning what actually happened in World War II.
A historian who archived one genocide standing at the site of another is a powerful read

Russia’s interference with satellite navigation signals is not just a technical issue, but a deliberate act. It puts aviation and maritime safety across Europe at risk.
Russia must stop these harmful disruptions and respect its international obligations.
Russia🇷🇺 continues to disturb 🛰️ satellite and GNSS signals, affecting 10 European countries' critical infrastructure and services. ➡️ Ahead of the next ITU #RRB (26-30 Oct), we strongly condemn these unacceptable actions and call on Russia to stop. #StopRussianJamming

Happy Monday, Gents.
With the new week starting, I'm reminded of the last two lines of Invictus:
"I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul."
Take that with you this week, gentlemen.

My two brothers and I would live in the woods which also had a stream. Hunting, fishing, building forts/rafts/treehouses. None of us remember going home for lunch. Strict Christian parents who taught us to be responsible and take care of each other.

Today is a mathematical date we won't see again for 78 years.
10/24/26
10² + 24² = 26²
It's called a Pythagorean Triple Day. There are infinitely many Pythagorean triples, but only 12 dates this century satisfy the equation.Today is the last.
