Q: So when he talked about running away to Alpha Centauri in the first two seasons, do you think he was just putting on an act? DT: "I think he genuinely felt that way at the time. He rejected Heaven, and he rejected Hell. So he started searching for a third path — a path that explores the complexity of what it really means to be human. And he wants to protect that, so that everyone can keep it. At least, that's how I understand it."
