My latest and last prediction on the top 5 and which 5 players go where:
1. 💣 Drever. They need speed.
2.🐯 Van Hattum
3. 🦅 Mellody
4. 😈 Butler
5. 🐯 Teixeira
Mellody + Hattum is the pairing I want most but if we take Mellody I think the eagles take Butler and the dees take Hattum. I don’t think the Dees will take Teixeira because they have enough similar players: speed from the guts and HF goal impact.
My 27’ bold prediction. The Tigers will win 3 of the first 6 games and 5 of their first 9. Smillie will go super Saiyan (dragon ball reference) and be a gamebreaking force. Our 24’ draft picks will go supernova. Smillie will be top 3 in our B&F.
I’ve thought long and hard about it. I think we take Gus Teixeira with our P2 and risk missing Van Hattum but maybe get him with P5. But I think the Dees take whichever one we don’t pick so I don’t think we get Teixeira and Van Hattum in any scenario.
I like that there remains bad blood between the Tiges and the Pies. That’s how it ought to be. Make no mistake, they are our arch enemy. Short going there would have / will make him dead to me. Leppa & Fly are a rabble. Don’t get me started on Magpie supporters.
So likely, Sonsie, Tresize and Ryan were tabled in that complex mega-trade; they were what we offered plus possibly some lower picks. After news broke we weren’t part of the trade, the three players were delisted. Hence they weren’t delisted earlier as they were shopped around.

Watching the retirement speeches this year and last I’m not convinced Yze had made an impression on any of them. He’s been a polite footnote in otherwise heartwrenching thank yous to Dimma and others. They’ve been diligent the older boys and patient with an emerging coach.
I’ve been a defender of Yze. But this speech is illogical. I’ve been a teacher for 18 years, I know when a class is being polite but really doesn’t understand the logic of what I’m saying. That this 20 second excerpt is so thin, means it was the only part worth showing. 😞
