I had a girl I was dating invite me to her bday party in HS where she did a presentation in front of everyone about how the other guy she was dating (also at the party) was better and she was dumping me. A week later she tricked a third party into bringing me on a group date.

Fun fact when I was 12 my “friends” orchestrated a fake reality show rose ceremony where they publicly voted me out of the friend group at lunchtime. It was so brutal that almost all of them tracked me down in adulthood to apologize.

I thought the mutual friend and I were going to hang out somewhere but then recent ex, her BF, another couple and my friends bf all showed up. Ex started making out with her BF like immediately and made a stink of it to the mutual friend when I walked away. Good times.

Gonna keep piggybacking. It is better if even low grade transphobic dems get elected (we need that vote for judges) so everyone should still vote for Turek, but I think that making it VERY loud and clear that an HRT-Hyde amendment is well outside acceptability is good.

It is still better for trans people if the Democrats manage to retake the senate. They’re more likely to block Trump’s stupid judges and appointments. while still sometimes frustrating, every other swing state dem is ~acceptable on trans issues and worth voting for. Last post

This is what I am wondering about. An anti HRT Hyde amendment is such a low public salience but high damage policy that it raises questions. I don't think your median voter understands this position enough to be swayed by it. Feels like it is for the love(hate) of the game

Yeah tbh we shouldn't underrate the element of sincerity here; the assumption is that Turek is just callouslly selling-out, but he may simply be sincerely anti-trans. At which point arguments about political efficacy will be unlikely to move him.

This isn't even an electoralism issue. Most Americans think that trans people over the age of 18 should have access to medical care. This is just an unforced error that signals a fairly callous position on some of society's most vulnerable.
