For many of us, Field of Dreams makes a persuasive case for #cricket as an agent of hope. It also has much to teach us about recovery. My piece @ChurchTimes 👇

Pastor Barnabas from Nigeria has an important message for you.
Having experienced first-hand the terrible suffering facing Christians in sub-Saharan Africa, he knows how crucial the Arise Africa petition is in breaking the silence over it.
Thank you to all of you who've added your voice. If you've yet to, there is still time – and each signature really does matter.

Stop the violence. Start the healing. On average, 12 Christians are killed for their faith every day in sub-Saharan Africa. Nobody is talking about it. Let's make it front page news. Please sign and share the global Arise Africa petition @OpenDoorsUK 🔽

You’ve travelled, stayed up late and backed us every step of the way ❤️
Together, into the @FIFAWorldCup Semi-finals 💪
.@CricketSociety outing to the 1st women's test match @HomeOfCricket was one of those perfect #cricket days that will linger long. Fine cricket, especially from Kranti Gaud, & fine company - @AnnieChave @peterhardy51 @5BooksBlog @nickyt2000 #ENGvIND

The @CricketSociety were out in force at the Women’s Test today! Not many of us stayed in the sun all day - luckily there was enough shade!
A thoughtful, excellent reflection of #ENGvNZ - a series I'd found a thoughtful, excellent reflection of #TestCricket - until 3.25pm Sunday. Jamie Smith salvaged the tone & Mitchell's ton was a timely testament to the format.

Loved this editorial in The Post this morning on @BLACKCAPS’ victory over England.
“Test cricket, like much else worth doing, rewards discipline, patience and delayed gratification. There are no shortcuts to greatness. Mr Mitchell’s innings was an object lesson in that truth.”

So much fun to be at the
@T20WorldCup semi yesterday & with a good crowd! Australia as slick as expected, but WI, despite talent, batted & fielded at red-ball pace. A lack of urgency that was never going to trouble Australia's finesse.

Jamie Smith earned his call-up to England for his prolific & highly effective batting @countychamp. Today, an attritional, Mitchell-like, Test performance could secure his place long-term! Going well so far 👏🏽

Agree @HarryEverett_14 thanks. This has been absorbing, well-fought #TestCricket - exemplified by Mitchell's ton. We should have been embracing a Day 5 challenging batters to dig in & bowlers to think under pressure. And how impressive was Foulkes? Kane's legacy in tact. #ENGvNZ
We don't know what Stokes faced & we all need mercy 🙏🏽, but there was a job to do: a Test Match to save; a new opener to learn how to dig in; an opponent to play; a nation to represent, & they were all cast aside.

What a day #ENGvNZ!
Hero: Daryl Mitchell
Lost opportunity: Duckett & Gay growing a Test p'ship to save a series.
Low point: worse than our batting, Bashir to Rachin for v ugly undertone.
👏🏽: @BLACKCAPS - & Kane, actually.
@CricketSociety
@HarryEverett_14 @cricket_broken
That was some 💯 from #BenDuckett. The pace, skill & beauty of it was Duckett at his best - form he showed in 2nd Test before that RO. Given his tricky past 6 months, including losing Crawley, that was one class knock for so many reasons 👏🏽

As a journalist who writes in the cross-sections of the Christian faith with sport or politics, the stories flowing from @FIFAWorldCup are simply amazing - like this 👇🏽

Felix Nmecha found the net for Germany… but his celebration said even more than the goal.
After scoring, he symbolically laid down his crown, a reminder that every gift, every victory and every moment of glory ultimately belongs to Jesus.
