News: At least a dozen civilians killed in yet another army drone strike in #Tigray’s #Rama town
At least 12 civilians were killed and several others injured in the latest drone strike targeting civilians collecting grain scattered from a truck that had been hit by a drone the previous evening in Rama town, Central Tigray, according local sources.
The attack occurred on Friday morning, October 30, when a drone struck civilians who had gathered to collect sorghum from a private truck carrying grain belonging to local traders. The truck had been hit by a drone strike at around 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, in the center of Rama town.
A local source who contacted #Addis_Standard by email said 12 civilians were killed instantly, while several others sustained injuries, including serious ones.
The situation remained critical, with some of the seriously injured requiring urgent medical attention but no available transportation to take them to hospitals

Addis Abeba - The #Orma_Oromo community, which settled more than 2,000 kilometers from Oromia in Kenya’s #Tana_River County, near the #Indian Ocean coast, says it has preserved its language, culture and customs for more than 500 years, passing them down through generations.
Orma descendants say more than 540 years have passed since their ancestors left Oromia. Despite the distance and the various pressures they have faced, they say they continue to protect their language and identity. They told Addis Standard that they are still calling for Afaan Oromo to be included in Kenya’s education system.
Usman Gutu, a resident of the Maro area and senior secretary of the Orma Council of Elders, told Addis Standard: “Although we have lived in Kenya for centuries, far from Oromia, our linguistic ties and Oromo identity have not been completely severed.
