Sadly there's been a stream of recent exploits on #multiversX, this time though it was too close to home! The hacker, obviously using ai, decided to go after our original mint contract, which is ~5 years old, WL themselves & claim royalties! Well the jokes on them, we are poor af, hardly any sales in the last period & recently claimed royalties! They managed to get around $50 😲 😲 Attacker address explorer.multiversx.com/acco… They don't seem to have sold or sent funds anywhere, perhaps it's a white hat!? We definitely need more of them. We dug out the old code, It hasn't been touched in half a decade, and will be applying updates. No users have been affected, just a $50 loss in ESDTS from royalties! We urge the community to be more open & work together to combat these rogue elements. A task force so to speak! Open dialogue between communities can definitely be the silver lining out of this bad situation Stay safe out there Always bullish! $EGLD @MultiversX

I knew it! Thanks for your honesty!
Off switch ! We have it in our garage ! Here in Colombia . Fully decentralized and actually went to switch it off at 4am to limit the exploit. 🫡

💯🎯👏
So this is the "secret kill switch"? 😂 Turns out the Foundation said: "Please stop your nodes." And the validators answered: "Done." Meria. Inception. Castlestake. Ofero. And others. Independent operators stopping their own nodes in response to an emergency coordination request. You can debate the hard-fork trigger in the code. You can debate how decentralized the coordination should be. But pretending this screenshot shows the Foundation remotely switching off 3,000 validators is simply dishonest. The screenshot literally shows the validators doing it themselves. Maybe read the evidence before writing the headline. Block this idiot. He’ll do anything to drag you down with him 🫠

#MultiversX just posted a new mainnet build. 232 nodes were updated within 7 minutes. That's ~ 7.25% of ~ 3200 validators. To reach a two-thirds consensus threshold via the same reaction speed, it would take 64 minutes! @MultiversX @MultiversXUSA

Thanks for the detailed report, very appreciated!
There’s a lot of talk right now about MultiversX downtime, off-switches, first halt, all of it. Fine. Let’s go through what actually happened since launch, six years ago, from a validator’s chair. I’ve run a node since day one. Before it was MultiversX. When the chain was still Elrond. You remember the weekends more than the marketing. The nights Telegram lights up. That’s the job. People talk this week like the chain never broke before, or like someone pressed a button on my servers. Neither is true. December 2021 — RIDE Nobody asked us to stop nodes. The chain kept making blocks. Listing traffic, bots, timeouts. Unusable for hours. Congestion. Consensus downtime: none. I didn’t reboot the server. June 2022 multiversx.com/blog/incident… VM bug. executeOnDestContextByCaller in a callback. Same shard. ~1.65M EGLD out of the wrap contracts, dumped on Maiar. They paused DEX, WEGLD swap, bridge, public API send. Not the chain. The report says the blockchain was never turned off. Own API still worked. In-place upgrade, most nodes on the new binary in ~30 min. Users made whole. Consensus downtime: none. Apps dark ~2 days. May 14, 2025 multiversx.com/blog/sc-bug-i… First real consensus halt. transferValueAndExecute. Missing check. Huge wrapped USDC credit, then USDT. They called verified / red-line operators, community delegation, 25+ SPs. Enough to break 66%. Quorum died. Patch v1.8.13.0. Back in 2h30. 99.999% recovered. No users directly affected. I wasn’t on that call. If you weren’t in that group you just watched it stall. Consensus downtime: 2h30. September 19, 2026 teapaw.org/MultiversX/status/2101… Same idea, bigger. VM atomicity. Invalid state already on chain. Official line: order-of-operations on an edge case. This time they asked everyone to keep mainnet nodes down. Hard fork from a checkpoint. That’s why it’s days, not two hours. I stopped my own nodes after the announcement. Nobody flipped a switch on my servers. I can still refuse the upgrade. PublicKeyToListenFrom in my config.toml is empty. I never cleared it. Should be back this afternoon. Call it ~4 days. ~96h. The map 2021 RIDE: consensus 0 2022: consensus 0, apps ~2 days 2025: 2h30 2026: ~96h, restart this afternoon SLA since launch: Since genesis (July 2020.) : ~98.5h down → about 99.82% uptime. Since 1 Jan 2026: only this one → about 98.5% this year. We’ve had incidents. We’ve had downtime. This is just the first time it stayed down more than a few hours. Not a fairy tale about a button. Those are the facts.

Been a validator since D1. We turned the nodes off after they told us what was going on. That was us doing it. Still our call if we upgrade or not to fork. Stuff got sent to exchanges and they locked it. It didn’t get sold. Yeah it sucked. There was a hack. But people actually showed up over the weekend and handled it. We lost the uptime streak. That’s it. Funds are still there.

Real-life use case, love seeing your results! 👏 🔥
Last weekend: 2 live events powered by our cashless payment system. 6,331 on-chain transactions 33 relayers 3,640+ NFC cards Total fees: 1.40068 EGLD (~$5.3) 🤯 For both organizers and thousands of participants, everything was fully transparent and immutable on @MultiversX. No more: “my balance looks wrong” “I topped up 100 RON and it’s gone” “I only bought one drink, where’s my credit?” “money disappeared from my card” Every transaction = on-chain, traceable, untouchable. That’s what real-world blockchain looks like.

🚨 THE SPEECH THAT CHANGED CRYPTO SEC Chair Atkins introducing token taxonomy. Clarity is here 🔥

Thank you SEC / CFTC, and many thanks Ryan for the great post!
THEY DID IT. The SEC and CFTC just dropped a landmark document that officially classifies crypto assets. They're actually telling us which crypto assets are securities and which ones aren't - by name! THIS IS SOMETHING GENSLER REFUSED TO DO (he focused on prosecuting crypto out of existence) This rule doc gives crypto many of the benefits of the clarity bill - it lifts us out of the gray market - it gives every asset a path. It's almost like the Clarity act just passed by way of regulator. (of course, the actual clarity act will harden all this into legislation and make it irreversible in the event we get another Gensler, we still want it) This rule says there's 5 categories for crypto assets: 1) Digital Commodities - assets tied to a functional, decentralized crypto system (e.g., BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, ADA, DOGE). Not securities. (yes, they name them on page 14) 2) Digital Collectibles - NFTs, meme coins, artwork tokens, in-game items. Not securities (fractionalized collectibles may be an exception). 3) Digital Tools - membership tokens, credentials, domain names (e.g., ENS). Not securities. 4) Stablecoins - payment stablecoins under the GENIUS Act are not securities. Other stablecoins, it depends. 5) Digital Securities - tokenized versions of traditional securities. Like tokenized stocks. Always securities. Amazing! This makes so much sense I can't believe it's coming from a regulator. No more enforcement threats to Ethereum developers and crypto exchanges. How about the Howey test? More common sense! If an issuer makes specific promises of managerial efforts from which buyers expect profits, the offering is a security until those promises are fulfilled. Then it's a commodity. The asset itself was never the security, the deal around it was. (E.g. XRP was a security pre launch, became a commodity after). How about stuff like staking and mining? Mining? Not a securities transaction. Staking? Also not a securities transaction, that includes custodial and liquid staking even with LSTs! How about wrapping BTC? Not a securities transaction. Airdrops? NOT SECURITIES. NO MORE GEO BANS PROTECTING AMERICANS from free airdrops. Remember this is a joint doc from the SEC and CFTC, They're actually cooperating on this, no internal strife, this is binding to both. SEC regulates $80-100 trillion assets CFTC regulates $5-10 trillion assets Both of the world's largest capital markets are showing us that crypto assets are here to stay and they're welcome alongside traditional assets. Every country will follow. This is the biggest move toward legitimacy I've seen in all my time in crypto. Maybe bigger than the genius act since is covers all crypto assets. Well done @MichaelSelig and @SECPaulSAtkins. And especially well done to the indefatigable @HesterPeirce. Her fingerprints are all over this, couldn't have happened without her eight years of principles-based curiosity.

And Supernova is live on BoN! Blocks being produced every 600 ms on all shards, with a large backlog of transactions consumed at activation like it was nothing. Looking good!

Good to know It is also worth noting what kind of network this is. Battle of Nodes does not run on a devnet or testnet. It runs on a shadow fork of mainnet — a fork that copies the actual state of the MultiversX mainnet. The conditions are as close to real as possible without being mainnet itself. That distinction matters for the validity of everything that follows.

$ONE is that project flying below everyone's radar. The team survived and pushed features through one of the worst part of the cycle, community is behind and team offers lots of perks for SFT holders. @OneDex_X @OneFinityChain #ONE

@OneDex_X is one underrated project on @MultiversX. Did you knew(?): 1️⃣ You can stake #NFT s from your wallet - or even create your own NFT staking pool. 2️⃣ It has a permissionless launchpad, so anyone can launch a project or join new ones. 3️⃣ It built #FunDex, where you can create your own meme coin in minutes. 🚀 Bonus: Today marks the launch of the first #CLMM ever on @MultiversX, powered by @OneDex_X! Of course, these aren’t the only features of @OneDex_X. There are many more features waiting to be discovered. 💥 Like and retweet so others can discover what’s being built right here! #EGLD #Crypto #DeFi #OneDex

I'm learning in practical ways that same-vision team effort far exceeds what a 1-person "team" can do! This effort started ~5 weeks ago. Several crypto market crashes later, my leading-by-example contribution (orange) is but a small part. Many THANKS to all of you!🙏 @OneDex_X
