The city might have voted to build four new jails in our boroughs but we believe that another world is possible. I am so fucking proud of our youth, who spent the entire day sharing their vision for an abolitionist future and channeling what our ancestors before us fought for.

Our power is not determined by any governing body that does not honor the wholeness of our lives. Your power is your life itself. To be alive means you hold possibility in your every breath. Liberation can only come if we protect and care for each other’s lives wholly/as holy.

There is a growing grassroots abolitionist movement against the city’s Borough Based Jail Plan set to expand the city’s carceral facilities with four new jails at the cost of $15 billion. Next to 127 Walker is the new Chinatown jail, set to become the tallest jail in the world.

When Israel one day (soon) goes the way of Rhodesia, never let NYU forget how they made being pro-colonialism a protected class in order to protect an apartheid regime from being protested by students.

I’m so fucking sad. Every Palestinian lost is a lost full person, a person who had people who loved them, a person with a lifetime of ideas and preferences and dreams. How is this the world we live in?

Reminder for those in academe: make an effort to hire instructors who were suspended or fired for opposing Zionist genocide. Teach Palestine. Renounce apologists for "Israel." Invite scholars from Gaza to offer lectures and workshops. These too are forms of resistance.

Our collaboration has been defined by a dialectical method of building and experimenting with abolitionist practice alongside and within our various communities. With Palestine on our mind, we invite readers to practice alongside us until all of us are closer to liberation
