In 1971, India used L-70 anti-aircraft guns to defend airfields against attacking aircraft. During Operation Sindoor, upgraded versions of the same gun were used against incoming drones.
The gun still fires shells. What improved was its ability to find, follow and aim at a target, through daylight and thermal cameras, a laser rangefinder, automatic tracking and a digital fire-control computer.
Similar upgrades are happening across military equipment, with guided bombs, better missile seekers and more capable radars on aircraft. A modern weapon is increasingly an electronics system with a weapon attached to it.
Our Q2FY27 letter is on Indian defence electronics. Here's what we learned 🧵

BREAKING: Zelensky says he has been betrayed by Trump, that Elon Musk and Trump deliberately blocked Starlink in Ukraine overnight and that people have been killed as a result. "I am sure they knew what they did, absolutely. Because it was 1am at night, Starlink was blocked by SpaceX and the United States," he tells Piers Morgan.
"This decision will bring a lot of human losses. Of course, people will die." He said interceptors that rely on Starlink did not work, and that "this is not the right side of history."
Asked if he is angry with Musk, Zelensky said yes, calling it a big mistake.
"Now Putin is laughing because, I mean this is for him, simple victory," he says on the Trump-Russia diesel deal.

Q4FY26 Insights Letter provide fabulous understanding of Data Center theme and entire value chain.
I think no one in Indian stock market circle has given this types of in-depth details for free.
I can't thank enough.

In our Q4FY26 letter, we wrote about why transformers are in short supply, and which are the key constraints in this value chain.
Half of America's AI data centers planned for 2026 are delayed or cancelled. They're waiting on transformers. I build chemical plants. Transformer prices have tripled in the last four years. Lead times are 2 to 4 years. Each new plant we build competes with AI data centers for the same grid equipment. Every large power transformer in America runs on grain-oriented electrical steel. It's made by rolling iron and silicon together until their crystals align in one direction. No other alloy works at utility scale and only one US company makes it: Cleveland-Cliffs. The average large power transformer on the grid is 38 years old. Service life is 40. Amazon, Google, Meta, and Microsoft committed $650 billion to AI infrastructure this year. Nvidia's most expensive GPU is useless without a transformer.
Producivity gains already achieved are so vast, that it is hard to imagine the how we will compete in a post-AI world.
Our cofounder Sagar Arya dives into the tremendous shift underway in the aerospace industry in this riveting conversation with @ishmohit1 @soicfinance
With Western supply chains struggling and a global backlog of 17,000+ aircraft, India is emerging as the next manufacturing hub.
In this video, @soicfinance deep dives into the value chain, astutely focusing on key players including @DynamaticTech.

Global commercial aerospace demand is strong.
Yet aircraft deliveries remain below pre-COVID levels.
Problem? Capacity.
In our latest letter, we explain why the aerospace supply chain is structurally constrained, and why India is emerging as part of the solution. 🧵
We also outline how we evaluate aerospace companies:
• Component complexity
• Vertical integration
• On-time-in-full delivery
• Exposure to newer programs
• Balance sheet strength
Not all aerospace exposure is created equal.
If you are interested in understanding:
• Why aerospace capacity is constrained
• Why India’s role is structurally changing
• How value is created over decades, not quarters
Our latest quarterly letter is worth your time. See it here on the link.

Xponent tribe came out with another masterclass..this time, its in on mental models to navigate the complexities of mkt-
- Understanding why humans are primed to fail without strong foundation
- Why PF decisions> stock picking
- Mental models to incorporate in our framework👇
