Behind every good decision is good data. World Statistics Day, observed every five years on 20 October, reminds us of the vital role reliable statistics play in shaping policies, guiding investments and advancing sustainable development. This is why today's launch of 𝐔𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚’𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 is such an important milestone. I was pleased to join the @MoICT_Ug, @UNGlobalPulseUG and partners in this important step towards a more data-driven future. Currently, only 36% of NDP IV indicators are supported by available data. Therefore, strengthening Uganda’s data systems is critical to closing these gaps and ensuring that policies and investments deliver results for the people who need them most. At UNDP, we remain committed to supporting the @GovUganda in translating this Strategy into action through stronger partnerships, inclusive digital transformation and the responsible use of data to improve lives. #NationalDataStrategy

Thrilled to welcome the @TonyElumeluFDN team to Uganda as they undertake physical verification of beneficiaries of the Investing in Young Businesses in Africa – Women Entrepreneurship for Africa programme. Our discussions reflected on the remarkable evolution of the UNDP-TEF partnership since 2019, its growing impact in empowering women entrepreneurs, and the exciting opportunities to deepen collaboration in Uganda including supporting more young entrepreneurs, strengthening local enterprises, and driving inclusive economic growth.
