#GFYAwards are obviously content...and giving away @punkyspizza gift cards to a bunch of yous is the end goal, but it is pretty fun to accumulate the responses and see what "the people" think about things....very interesting...
May I suggest doing it on @OzzysBoneyard with the great @Strigl I'm sure he would be more than happy to make that happen

This is something I hate to see.
The storylines the sport seems to make now is when there’s a fight. Otherwise, I feel even championship media has gotten less and less national attention, which I am hoping gets better with the return of the Chase. Even then, I don’t know.
There has been improvements of course. I feel the marketing around the sport this year has helped bring back relevancy of a sport we love, but not enough to have national news outlets cover a random race at Phoenix or Michigan. I don’t believe it’s ever been that way though.
The issue now, personally, is a few things. With how much media there is now, NASCAR gets buried. Additionally, I think there is a misconception around how lucrative media outlets, big and small, actually are. The reality is, news and media outlets are constantly cutting employees. The employees that remain, in turn, are spread so thin and priorities shift. In addition, budgets are tighter than ever before for travel. Unless you can reasonably drive to the track and afford a hotel for two or three nights. You’re not going to see coverage.
Very fortunate to work for Motorsport and run my own entirety that allows me the ability to cover racing much more than I could otherwise.
