Taking an IQ test is the most pointless thing ever when your entire life experience is already a proxy for what your IQ is. Your grades in high school/college, how good you were at math and science, the way you communicate, your ability to problem solve on the fly, your ability to recall information, etc are much more practical and important things that serve as proxies for your intelligence. A low IQ person may need an IQ test to know they’re low IQ, but a high IQ person does not need an IQ test to know they’re high IQ. Einstein and Tesla never took IQ tests but everyone estimates their IQ to be high because of their contributions to the world, not because they took some test and got a number. Most of these high IQ Mensa people are losers and have nothing to show for their supreme intelligence other than a Mensa society badge. The real cope is actually feeling the need to take one in the first place because it indicates that you are insecure about your intelligence and your life experience didn’t sufficiently affirm that you are smart enough (unless you’re fucking around and taking it for fun). It’s not that IQ isn’t important, I just think it’s a really silly thing to obsess over and develop an ego about when there’s literally millions of other factors that play into life quality, success, finding a romantic partner, etc

I read a tweet which I can no longer find about how the days of long term relationships are ending and I couldn’t agree more. If you are long term relationship or marriage oriented in this day and age you will get left behind. Everything is now superficial dopamine optimization which also means novelty and thrill seeking optimization, and this is especially true for young hot women. This whole recent obsession with IQ, especially in the looksmaxxing space, I find to be so cringe. The internet, especially incels love obsessing over numbers like height, IQ, etc.. Since self worth is not something that can be quantified, the autist attempts to quantify it via some arbitrary metric to try to make sense of a confusing, random, and unclear world. IQ especially is a dick measuring contest over some arbitrary number that anyone can claim. It’s a weird thing to develop such a huge ego about when it’s probably genetically determined anyways, and it doesn’t even encompass all of what it means to be intelligent. I believe the IQ obsession stems from insecurity about one’s intelligence and a constant need to prove that you are smart to other people. It’s truly a losers game. The guys who have the highest right to speak about IQ are working at Large Hadron colliders, nuclear facilities and drawing equations on a board they’re not on social media talking about IQ. The only time it’s funny to bring up IQ is when you’re using it to insult like “low IQ”. But getting into a real dick measuring contest about it is so pathetic.
