National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir visited the scene of Friday morning’s shooting attack near Judea Junction, where he received a briefing from Brig. Gen. Ilan Malka, acting head of the Civil Administration. “This is a difficult morning. We are praying for the recovery of the wounded. This incident once again demonstrates what I have been saying in the Cabinet for the past four years. We must dismantle this thing called the Palestinian Authority.” Ben Gvir demanded an end to shared roads used by Israelis and Palestinian Authority residents in Yehuda and Shomron. “The freedom of movement of Palestinian Authority residents is less important than our right to live,” he declared. He concluded: “Dismantle the Palestinian Authority, dismantle them! There cannot be a terrorist authority alongside the State of Israel.”

A federal court filing identifies Rep. Ilhan Omar as “Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar,” amid a criminal investigation into possible immigration fraud. Sources reportedly say her public name differs from her birth name. The filing’s use of “Nur Said Elmi” has drawn attention because her former husband is named Ahmed Nur Said Elmi. Investigators reportedly obtained Omar’s DNA and seized her passport and phone during the October 12 search. Asked whether she was related to her former husband, Omar said, “Not to my knowledge.” She denies wrongdoing and calls the investigation political intimidation.
