To every trader in Delhi: We love you and hear you. The Govt shut the metro, sealed our roads and locked down our capital. With a stolen vote nothing is safe - your shop, your savings, your children’s future. Tell Modi to sack accused no. 4, Gyanesh Kumar and the protests will stop in 30 seconds.

12.15 lakh appeals in a single day works out to about 14 appeals every second, around the clock for 24 hours. The math clearly shows that the EC officials consider the judges as idiots.
Election Commission filed more than 12 lakh appeals against West Bengal voters, and every one of them carries the same date: April 5, 2026. As reported by @chhuti_is in @thewire_in , based on appeal records compiled by the Civic Research Group, the Election Commission appealed against 16,08,175 of the 32,53,401 Bengal voters whom judicial officers had examined and found eligible. That is 49.4%. This number is not in dispute. In its own September submission to Supreme Court, ECI itself reported 16,10,311 appeals against inclusion. What is new is when they were filed. The Wire's verification of unique appeal IDs shows that 99% of the appeals carry one of three dates - 🔹April 5: 12,15,318 appeals (87%) 🔹April 6: 1,39,954 appeals 🔹April 8: 30,102 appeals Now look at the calendar. Judicial officers finished examining more than 60 lakh cases by the first week of April. The rolls for the Assembly election were frozen at midnight on April 7. Polling began on April 23. So within days of judges clearing these voters & on the eve of the freeze, the Commission filed appeals against nearly half of them. Do the arithmetic. 12.15 lakh appeals in a single day works out to about 14 appeals every second, around the clock for 24 hours. Acc. to The Wire a single timestamp shared by more than 12 lakh appeals points to appeals created or uploaded as a batch. These were individual citizens, each one cleared by a judge after their documents were examined. Was even one of their cases individually reviewed before the Commission challenged it? There's more. A retired judge sitting as an appellate tribunal in Murshidabad said on record that a substantial share of the appeals before him were filed by the Additional Chief Electoral Officer's office. The Commission still hasn't disclosed the grounds for these appeals, who authorised them, or how they were prepared. Questions that Election Commission answer: 🔹How were more than 12 lakh appeals generated on a single day, April 5? 🔹Was each voter's case individually examined before an appeal was filed against them? If so, by whom, and when? 🔹Who ordered these appeals, and why were they filed just before the rolls froze? 🔹On what grounds did the Commission challenge voters whom judges had already cleared? 🔹Will it withdraw every appeal that was not based on an individual review of the voter's case? Judges examined each voter one by one. The Commission appears to have challenged them in bulk. m.thewire.in/article/governm…

Can't speak for everybody, but I'm here just for the sources. You can't trust a random official statement these days.
The ITBP Director General’s statement on China was made in the context of routine preparedness and force deployment along the India-China border, and was not linked to any specific incident. The ITBP, a border-guarding force, operates along the border in accordance with the Indian government’s policies, orders issued for different situations, and established standard operating procedures. The force may issue an official statement on the matter soon: Sources

Iran won't deal without upfront concessions from US, despite Russian mediation. Israel can't afford to not play saboteur. Europe & Zelensky's penchant for self harm must not be underestimated. Then there's Trump. With so much beyond its control, why would China get involved?
Why is the board aligned with Putin, Trump, and Iran? Look at the sequence: August 25: CIA Director John Ratcliffe travels secretly to Moscow. Besides Ukraine, he brings data saying Russia needs to use its influence to contain Iran in the Middle East. The public story that went around was that Ratcliffe went there to threaten the Russians. That never made sense. You only make a trip like that when you want to ask for something. September 5: Trump’s people, Witkoff and Kushner, meet Putin in Moscow to sketch the Ukraine peace framework. October 9: Trump and Putin close a deal for Russian diesel. As I wrote before, 300 thousand tons covers only a few hours of the market and was never about causing shortages in the U.S. The real point was to lift sanctions and give Putin some economic room so he could put more pressure on Iran. October 10–14: Trump starts heavy public attacks on Zelensky. He says Zelensky is prolonging the war on purpose and that Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries have the “hidden goal” of driving up diesel prices in the U.S. and sabotaging his government. At the same time the White House puts speed limits on Starshield (the military Starlink), which immediately cuts the effectiveness and coordination of Ukrainian drones. October 15–19: Trump goes further. On Truth Social he says Zelensky “doesn’t want and never wanted peace” and that he is “much harder to deal with than Putin.” With the technical limits the U.S. imposed, European leaders in Brussels start telling Ukraine that aid for the winter could be cut or sharply reduced if Zelensky keeps maximalist demands and refuses to negotiate. They talk about budget problems. October 19: While the pressure on Kyiv continues, Lavrov arrives in Tehran. Trump publicly backs the move, saying Russia and China have “done very little for Iran,” basically telling Putin to demand Iranian restraint. October 20: Witkoff meets Zelensky in Oslo under strong pressure from NATO and European leaders for Ukraine to stop hitting Russian infrastructure. October 21: Witkoff and Kushner meet Putin in St. Petersburg. With Lavrov already in Tehran, Putin offers Russian mediation with Iran in exchange for moving forward the U.S.-Russia-Ukraine summit planned for mid-November in Abu Dhabi. Where do the Chinese fit? Trump also pulled the Chinese in and pushed them to do more. October 14, 2026: Wang Yi meets Lavrov. Beijing aligns a coordinated line, Russia pressures Iran through security channels (which is why Lavrov went to Tehran on the 19th), China uses economic and financial pressure directly on the Iranians. October 19, 2026: Li Qiang meets Iranian First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref in Dushanbe, on the side of the SCO summit. Li Qiang tells the Iranian government to stop actions that raise tensions in the Middle East and demands an “early return to dialogue and political negotiations.” The Chinese are answering Trump and applying a modest financial pressure on Iran. But how far does it go? Is just a simulation? The summit between the U.S., Russia and China that Putin is organizing to November , is it really about Iran, or is it about Trump having to give more concessions to both so they will actually put more effort into pressuring Iran? I see an understanding between Trump and Putin that involves Ukraine, but I don’t see Putin with the power to persuade Iran, or China. At this point Trump gains an ally, but not the actual resolution of the problem. No one is going to pull those inflamed thorns out of Trump so easily. Both the Russians and the Chinese will put up obstacles and extract a high political cost. At the same time Zelensky knows these difficulties and will pretend to cooperate. We are watching multiple acts of theater. If anything moves forward it will be mostly on Trump’s own effort, far more than on any other actor.

PM at #NDTVWorldSummit: Where the world is looking for a new order, some people in India are looking for disorder. They go abroad and ask for foreign intervention. Don’t know how many times will Congress try to launch its failed product

Ukraine destroyed. Arms manufacturers made billions. Leaders got huge cuts. Europe spent billions on the war, paid 2-3X more to America for energy, nuking its own economy. But has no money to spent on its citizens, so its citizens are on the streets. Now they wanna talk.
There is a growing realization among European governments that they may soon need to nominate someone to face Russian leader Vladimir Putin in direct talks on a peace deal for Ukraine. The main problem is deciding who should take on such a hazardous task. vist.ly/5peds

It's evident that we're letting the US dictate our energy policy. It's also evident that India is being asked to finance reconstruction of a looted oil industry. Rubio's hostage MOU with Delcy Rodriguez isn't fooling anyone.
On October 20, 2026, in Mumbai, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio proposed that Indian refiners—particularly Reliance Industries—process more Venezuelan crude and explore oil production there. India must examine the terms carefully. Buying crude, rebuilding Venezuela’s oil industry and reducing Russian supplies are three separate decisions, with very different costs and risks. Before committing, New Delhi needs answers to seven questions. 1️⃣ WHAT MORE DOES WASHINGTON WANT? India is already diversifying. • Venezuelan crude imports jumped from $255 million in FY2026 to nearly $3.6 billion in April–August 2026. • U.S. crude purchases rose from $405 million in July to $790 million in August. • Russian purchases fell about 25%, from $7.3 billion to $5.4 billion, reducing Russia’s share from 51% to 45%. With this shift already underway, what additional commitments does Washington seek—and what would India gain? 2️⃣ WHY THE FOCUS ON RELIANCE? Reliance accounted for 74.3% of India’s $3,585.6 million Venezuelan crude imports in April–August: • SEZ Jamnagar: $1,695.3 million—47.3%. • Sikka: $968.2 million—27%. The remainder came through Indian Oil’s Paradip facility, $421.3 million; Mundra storage terminals operated by HPCL and others, $405.8 million; and Nayara’s Vadinar facility, $95 million. Reliance is already the dominant buyer. Any further commitment must make commercial sense for the company. 3️⃣ DOES CHEAPER CRUDE MEAN CHEAPER FUEL? During April–August, India paid an average $612 per tonne for Venezuelan crude, compared with $821 for Saudi crude. But the discount is only the starting point. Venezuela’s mostly extra-heavy crude requires specialised diluents, upgrading and transport infrastructure. Lower yields and higher handling and refining costs can absorb part of the price advantage. India has the capability: Reliance’s Jamnagar complex, Nayara’s Vadinar refinery and suitable IOC and HPCL facilities can process heavy crude. The test is the final refining margin, supply reliability and delivered cost. 4️⃣ IS INDIA BEING ASKED TO BUY OIL—OR FINANCE RECONSTRUCTION? Venezuela produces roughly 1.1–1.2 million barrels a day and exports about 650,000–750,000 barrels. Restoring production above its historical peak of 3 million barrels a day could take 7–10 years and $75 billion to more than $100 billion. That means rebuilding upgraders, restoring power and repairing export facilities. India must establish whether Rubio’s proposal offers reliable crude supplies or seeks Indian capital to rehabilitate Venezuela’s damaged oil industry. The investment burden, ownership terms, payment security and expected returns must be explicit. 5️⃣ WHO BEARS THE COST IF U.S. POLICY REVERSES AGAIN? India has already experienced this risk. U.S. sanctions disrupted ONGC Videsh’s Venezuelan investments. Restrictions on Venezuelan state oil firm PDVSA, culminating in the 2019 oil embargo, also pushed Indian refiners to stop purchases. Hundreds of millions of dollars in Indian dividend earnings were stranded, production from equity investments was effectively frozen and expansion plans were abandoned. Washington once discouraged Venezuelan oil purchases. It now encourages them. What protects Indian investments if it changes direction again? 6️⃣ WHY MUST INDIA REDUCE RUSSIAN PURCHASES WHILE THE U.S. BUYS RUSSIAN DIESEL? On October 9, Washington agreed to buy Russian diesel to improve domestic availability. The arrangement provided sanctions relief until April 7, 2027, potentially generating dollar earnings for Russian producers, including Rosneft and Lukoil. Washington must explain why its energy needs justify Russian purchases while India faces pressure to reduce its own. India’s sourcing decisions must serve its energy security and commercial interests. 7️⃣ HOW MUCH MORE CAN RELIANCE COMMIT? On March 11, 2026, President Trump announced a $300 billion refinery project involving Reliance at Brownsville, Texas. Any request for Reliance to invest in Venezuelan oilfields must be assessed alongside its existing commitments, financing capacity and execution risks. India should seek clear terms on pricing, supply continuity, investment obligations, commercial returns, sanctions protection and how long Washington’s support will last. Buy Venezuelan crude where the economics work. Assess oilfield investment on its own merits. Decide Russian sourcing according to India’s needs. An American invitation is no guarantee that Indian capital—or India’s energy security—will be protected.

I have a toll booth to sell.
🚨🇺🇸 🇮🇷 Iran’s blockade of Hormuz is failing: the Gulf is pumping out MORE oil than before the war Kpler's numbers for the week through Oct. 18: 24 million barrels a day out of the region against 23.3 million prewar, and Hormuz itself back to 82% of normal even though October has seen roughly 30 ship attacks, a fifth of the war's total. Saudi and Emirati pipelines now carry 40% of the Gulf's non-Iranian crude around the strait, up from 17% in February. Iran's own exports stay bottled up by the US blockade. The system doing it is ugly and EXPENSIVE. Tankers reportedly load inside the Gulf with their trackers off, dash through under American air cover along the Omani coast, hand the cargo to another ship in the Gulf of Oman and go back in for more. Crews get three times their monthly pay or a $25,000 bonus for one round trip, a supertanker run to China costs a record $37 a barrel in freight, war insurance has jumped from under 3% to 10% of hull value, and one ship that took an RPG through its water tank last week was carrying 2 million barrels of Iraqi crude at the time. Credit where it's due: CENTCOM said last week that the US controls Hormuz and Tehran's "closed" claims are lies, and the volume data backs Washington. Iran can still make the trip dangerous and the whole world is paying for it at $108 Brent, which is why gas is $6 and Trump is at 31%. But the leverage Tehran built in April, the actual shortage of crude, appears to be gone. Source: WSJ / Kpler / Writer: Daniel

Questioning democratic institutions is the highest form of patriotism. Those who don't support peaceful protests in a democracy should have their citizenships revoked & shipped off to non democratic states.
VIDEO | Delhi: Stanford alumnus Devansh Sharma, one of the 400 signatories of the statement titled “Spare India from Anarchy,” says, “What I’m seeing right now in India is a very dangerous trend of questioning the democratic institutions on which our entire constitutional system rests. There is a difference between having a grievance and protesting against it. But when protests start affecting livelihoods and the national economy, they can turn into a push towards anarchy.” (Full video available on PTI Videos - ptivideos.com)
