Was too cowardly to put it on here before the game but this Rays lineup does not look like a World Series lineup

He forgot again!
Kevin Cash forgot to talk about fundamentals before the game I guess

Sort of crazy how the algorithm here works. I created this account to get away from politics etc and basically only follow Yankees and sports accounts and my for you page is just full of politics and stuff I never engage with.

John Smoltz: "Jacob Misiorowski is a 24 year old everyman." Yeah certainly the everyman is 6'7" and throws 103 mph

One of many plays during the dynasty years that turned out well for the Yankees but took a lot of good fortune to occur the way it did. xitter.cf/GershOnline/status/211…
Todd Zeile hit a ball off the top of the LF wall in Yankee Stadium that bounced back into the field of play in Game 1 of the WS on this day in 2000. Timo Perez assumed the ball was gone and was thrown out on a perfectly executed relay from David Justice and Derek Jeter.

A lot of Yankees are like "Here are the totally serious questions I'd love to ask Boone, Hal, and Cashman: 1) are the Yankees the worst and most embarrassing franchise in the history of sports? 2) will you take responsibility for destroying the Yankees by killing yourselves?

Very interesting comments from Gary
Replying to @yaakovweiner
Wrote here about some of the specific things Rice looks at (some of which also applies to Stanton) nydailynews.com/2026/09/30/h… Now that doesn't mean that that info is going to help everyone, or even that it can be presented in the same in order to get results... On the flip side, guys like Volpe and McMahon have resisted things like pulling the ball when numbers have suggested that would be to their benefit at times over the years... Like I said, want to flesh this out more at some point down the line

3) why don't you guarantee you're going to win the next world series? 4) Will you hug me and tell me everything's gonna be ok? 5) Why doesn't my dad love me?

Can't believe how far the Knicks have come where the bars are packed for Knicks opening night with people locked into the game

Glad that I was offline most the day and missed the reactions to the Boone 'news'

Happy for the Brewers and their very ethical series win. Swinging hard, hitting bombs and taking walks. Also happy for Gary Sanchez for whom I'm still annoyed about the way Yankees fans turned on.

As we all know performance with RISP is a skill. What's that, I'm seeing the Dodgers were the 3rd best team with RISP during the regular season?
The Dodgers have been eliminated from the 2026 postseason. They were just 4-27 (.148 BA) with runners in scoring position in the NLCS.

Suppose this was inevitable but there are indeed people out there saying the Yankees need to learn from the Guardians in how to build a team. You would think that people might see the guardians success so far as evidence of the randomness of the playoffs but nope

Has A-Rod ever said anything insightful as a commentator?

The Brewers have a *34%* strikeout rate as hitters in the NLCS they're four innings from being up 3-0
