Road to Ruin:Hitler’s territorial ambitions destroyed Germany. @AbiyAhmedAli must learn from history: Assab & Massawa belong to #Eritrea. No weapons or foreign backing can justify aggression. Abandon expansionism before z Horn of Africa pays z price.

Ethiopia’s ethnic violence is spiraling out of control. Reports say up to 80 Amhara have been massacred tonight amid the violence in Welega, where Oromos are also fleeing. Humanity has reached a horrifying low. Where is the accountability? #Ethiopia

Tension between Sudan and Ethiopia keeps rising, yet neither the African Union nor regional powers seem to care. For days, Sudanese civilians have been living under kamikaze drone attacks launched from Ethiopia. They are without electricity, hospitals are struggling to function and strikes on fuel stations have caused severe shortages. Ethiopia is paralysing the lives of Sudanese civilians.

Eritrea 🇪🇷 The Nation:
Legal Sovereignty and Regional Security in the Horn of Africa:
The Non-Negotiable Foundations for Normalizing Ethiopia–Eritrea Relations
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s offer to mediate between Addis Ababa and Asmara faces an unyielding diplomatic reality: genuine normalization cannot be brokered through political theater or transactional deals that ignore international law. From Asmara’s perspective, the current regional crisis is driven by Ethiopian revisionism and manufactured pretexts for maritime expansion. Genuine rapprochement requires strict adherence to binding legal obligations across four core pillars:
Precondition 1: Full Implementation of the 2018 Peace Agreements
Selective invocation of the 2018 Joint Declaration of Peace and Friendship while ignoring its binding foundational commitments is unacceptable diplomatic duplicity. A return to the 2018 framework requires concrete enforcement, not symbolic rhetoric used as political cover.
Precondition 2: Final and Binding Border Demarcation Under the EEBC
Addis Ababa must immediately execute the physical, pillar-by-pillar demarcation of the international frontier mandated by the 2002 Eritrea–Ethiopia Boundary Commission (EEBC). Lasting peace is impossible without the unconditional evacuation of occupied sovereign territories, including Badme.
Precondition 3: Absolute Respect for Sovereignty and Inviolable Borders
Ethiopia must unconditionally renounce all irredentist claims to sovereign Eritrean coastlines, deep-water ports, and waters. Being landlocked provides commercial transit access through mutual consent—never an entitlement to infringe on Assab, Massawa, or neighboring territorial integrity.
Precondition 4: Peaceful Domestic Resolution Without Conflict Externalization
Addis Ababa must cease manufacturing external regional crises to divert from its domestic failures. The armed insurgencies and governance breakdown across Tigray, Amhara, and Oromia demand peaceful political solutions within Ethiopia’s borders, not destabilizing cross-border aggression.
Mediation cannot supersede legal mandates, and sovereignty is non-negotiable. Until Addis Ababa completely abandons its expansionist rhetoric and honors the legal demarcation of the frontier, third-party diplomatic initiatives will find no common ground.

Abiy Ahmed’s boast of weapons acquisition/military superiority in Sub-Saharan Africa does raise questions. Superiority over whom? & for what purpose? Beyond the political immaturity and insecurity his post reflects, it is a reminder of Ethiopia’s pursuit of regional power without a responsible/coherent regional policy for peaceful coexistence. It is this blind pursuit of power that makes Ethiopia significant not as a constructive regional player or power, but a threat to regional peace. #Ethiopia
Our comprehensive efforts to sustainably ensure our country's peace and security have reached a new milestone today. The state of readiness being built within Ethiopia's defense forces is endowing the nation with the capability to preemptively deter aggression.
In accordance with our prior agreement with the Russian government, we have today taken delivery of the first twelve Su-35 4++ Generation fighter jets. Additionally, Ethiopia will receive four S-400 air defense system batteries.
I would like to express my gratitude to my friend, Russian President Vladimir Putin, for his dedication in ensuring we received these warplanes a year ahead of our agreed schedule. By equipping itself with these fighter jets, Ethiopia has taken the lead among Sub-Saharan African nations.
This historic achievement further strengthens our nation's sovereignty, and it will serve as a massive capability boost that allows us to confidently continue our journey toward ensuring our collective security and regional stability in the future.

Vocational training for youth in Anseba Region
Vocational training has been provided to 346 youth in the Anseba Region by the Shalot Training Centre.
The three-month theoretical and practical training covered 11 subjects, including solar energy installation, bookkeeping, electricity line installation, graphic design, and English language.
Ms. Senait Gebrehiwet, manager of the training centre, said the objective of the training was to build the overall capacity of the youth and enable them to become productive members of society. She also commended the trainees for the interest they demonstrated throughout the training programme.
Noting that enhancing the overall capacity of the youth is part of the nation-building process, Mr. Azazi Bereketeab, head of the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students in the Anseba Region, called on the trainees to apply the knowledge they had gained in practical settings.
