🚨🇺🇸 BREAKING: JIMMY KIMMEL RETURNS - "IT WAS NEVER MY INTENTION TO MAKE LIGHT OF MURDER" Kimmel walked back on stage Tuesday night to thunderous chants of “Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy” from his studio audience. Wearing a suit and tie, he opened with: "Thank you... Anyway, as I was saying before I was interrupted" Kimmel grew emotional as he thanked both allies and unlikely defenders: “Most of all, I want to thank the people who don’t support my show and what I believe, but support my right to share those beliefs anyway… Ben Shapiro, Clay Travis, Mitch McConnell, Rand Paul, even Ted Cruz — they showed courage.” He directly addressed the backlash over his Charlie Kirk remarks: “You understand that it was never my intention to make fun of a murder of a young man… I get why you’re upset if it felt ill-timed or unclear.” Kimmel also said he did not agree with Disney’s decision to pull his show, but he thanked the company for defending his right to poke fun at the powerful and for allowing him back on air: “Unfortunately, and I think unjustly, this puts them at risk. The president of the United States made it very clear he wants to see me and the hundreds of people who work here fired. Our leader celebrates Americans losing their livelihoods because he can’t take a joke... A government threat to silence a comedian the government doesn’t like is anti-American.” Source: ABC
