As a veteran, it is difficult to ignore the message sent when the Trump administration orders an investigation into astronaut, U.S. Navy combat pilot, and Senator Mark Kelly while the same circle is confirmed to have held an unannounced meeting in a Miami hotel with a Kremlin linked intelligence risk. That meeting included Trump’s son in law, Jared Kushner, and his crypto business partner, Steve Witkoff. This is a simple dichotomy. One man is a decorated American veteran with a lifetime of service. The other is a sanctioned Russian asset operating through back channel contacts inside the United States. When a government targets the veteran and accommodates the asset, it reveals its priorities without a single word spoken. Does Jared Kushner even hold the compartmentalized clearances required to participate as a formal U.S. representative in sensitive Ukraine–Russia discussions with a Kremlin linked security risk under U.S. sanctions?
