I am so proud of my colleague, Dr. @YuiNishimura_! Yui took on a really ambitious project about how NGOs influence government human rights behavior through the UN Universal Periodic Review. It's interesting and important research, and I can't wait for all of you to read it!
Congratulations to @YuiNishimura_ on the successful defense of her dissertation "Institutionalized Cooperation: How NGO Cooperation Shapes Global Governance on Human Rights." Fantastic work, Yui!
Finally defended my dissertation! Thank you to my very supportive committee, @BAshleyLeeds, Connor Huff, and @michtorresp. Thank you also to my fellow grad students @RicePoliSci for the encouragement throughout my time at Rice!

Graduate student work, in particular, consistently stood out. 29 different presentations featured grad student authors. After reviewing all of them this week, I'm pleased to announce that co-winners of the APOSS Best Graduate Student Paper Award are: 5/10
