STEP 7 ➡️ EFL LEAGUE 1 DEBUT 📈
This is the story of PitchScout user Orian Reid who only a few seasons ago was playing Step 7 football for Gala Wilton Fc in Gloucester and has now recently made his professional debut in League One for Barnsley 📈👀
An unbelievable young talent that made his way through to play for Lydney at Step 5, then Hartpury (where he attended College) in the Southern League Step 4. This kid is strong, fast, has sharp feet and dangerous in front of goal. He scores goals everywhere he goes and we wish him the best! 🤝💪⚽️

🗣️STEP7 to PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL: O’rian Reid‼️💎
The incredible rise of O’Rian Reid, whose journey is another reminder that rejection doesn’t have to mean the end of the road!
Released by West Ham just before U15 level, Reid refused to give up on his dream of becoming a professional footballer.
His journey took him into the depths of non-league football, starting at Step 7 with Gala Wilton before progressing through Hartpury College, Step 4 side Hartpury FC and Step 5 outfit Lydney Town.
Along the way, he put in countless hours of additional work with coach Mike Hill.
A showcase opportunity through Non-League Gems helped put him on Barnsley’s radar, and in August 2026, he signed his first professional contract at just 18.
After impressing for the U21s and making his senior debut in the EFL Trophy, Reid reached another huge milestone yesterday, making his LEAGUE ONE DEBUT AGAINST STOCKPORT COUNTY! 🔥
From academy rejection to Step 7 football, and now playing in the EFL before his 19th birthday.
What a journey. What a reminder of the talent, resilience and determination that exists throughout non-league football! 💎👏🏽

This guy built a school, a playground, ten houses for the teachers, a football pitch, four water towers, a farm, a medical centre, a market, a community centre and a library. What an absolute legend.
And he’s giving the kids a meal a day for FIVE YEARS!

Hull have taken non-league star Devonte West on trial. The attacking midfielder has impressed for Lewes this season with 11 goals and a host of EFL clubs have been keeping tabs on his progress, but Hull are hoping to steal a march on their rivals by taking him on trial. #hcafc
I’m going to have a vent on this Salah situation because I feel like a lot of people are being hypocrites.
First things first, I don’t think Mo should have done that interview but what must be going on behind closed doors for him to feel like that’s the only way he’s heard?
So I can fully understand his frustration. Last season Trent chose to leave Liverpool and everyone ripped his head off for not being loyal. Salah has shown loyalty and this is how he’s being repayed? He mentioned he was promised stuff at the end of last season..
