I’m in my 40’s, never been married and I haven’t any children. Why? I’ve known since I was an adolescent I didn’t want to be a mother. I’ve also never desired to be married to anyone I’ve been in relationships with. Now, I’ve been proposed to 5x’s, and I’ve said no every time. I love to go to music festivals, travel to concerts, and I have zero regrets on being in my 40’s and childless. Why would I have kids if I’m not married? Why do people assume bearing children is the only purpose a woman has? I love children, and I want to ensure I leave the world better than I found it and make it a safer place for all the children in the world. I just don’t want to have any. I keep seeing posts like this in the intewebs chastising women for being childless and enjoying their life. Trust me, there has never been a time where I have regretted enjoying adventures because I was childless. I have zero envy of my married friends who have children. In fact, I am grateful I have trusted myself and know myself well enough to know what is right for me and followed my intuition. We live in a time where females are murdering their children, abortion is at an all time high, we are passing legislation to enable late term abortion and people are defending women like Clancy for her heinous actions. Leave childless women alone. We all have different paths, purposes and priorities. What is meant for one may not be for another. I love my life, whether times are up or down, I have comfort and peace knowing my decisions are my own and I am following my calling. I hear people say, “who is going to take care of you when you’re old?” Or, “you’re making excuses for being alone - no one wants to be alone”. I know plenty of people with kids who don’t do anything to help them or support them, older women who are just fine alone. Projecting your emotions on to others is a waste of time. Maybe I’ll meet my husband tomorrow, maybe I’ll never marry, the point is focus on your own happiness, your own life and be open to the possibilities that there are people in this world who can live a completely different life than you and you can still co exist and mind your own fucking business. ✌🏻
