So PlayStation is laying off 26 people at Sucker Punch.
Even one of their most successful studios isn't safe.
You can make great games, deliver results, and still lose your job.
But hey, I'm sure the shareholders are doing just fine.
This industry is fucking exhausting.
PlayStation has laid off 26 staff at Sucker Punch.
That makes up around 10-15% of the studio.
Sadly even the best studios in the world aren't immune to layoffs right now.

To be honest, Phantom Blade Zero wasn't a game I was looking forward to.
But after looking into it more and seeing these reviews, I think I'm actually gonna give it a shot.
88 on Metacritic is damn impressive.
Also, who the FUCK reviews games for Eurogamer?

Are we really surprised?
The narcissistic behavior we've allegedly seen from developers at failed studios is fucking insane.
Imagine thinking your opinions are so important you'd advocate against hiring someone over a LinkedIn like.
Maybe focus on making good games?
Xbox has been pretty quick to push back on false reporting lately, so it's worth pointing out they've been silent on Gears of War: E-Day.
That said, nobody outside Xbox knows the actual sales numbers.
One thing is clear, Gears was a huge budget game for Xbox.
A source tells Kotaku that Gears of War: E-Day cost over $500 million to make. Sales estimates have been weak despite earning the highest Metacritic score since the original trilogy.
If it was never going to recoup its expenses, maybe it could achieve more as an Xbox console exclusive kotaku.com/the-case-for-excl…

BioWare closing after 31 years is fucking sad, but is anyone surprised?
The BioWare that gave us Mass Effect, Dragon Age and KOTOR died a long time ago.
We've watched a legendary studio slowly fall apart for years.
Sadly, everyone saw this coming.

AMD FSR 4.1 coming to Xbox consoles and handhelds is pretty fucking awesome.
Better upscaling, improved visuals and potentially more performance without needing new hardware.
Anything that helps these consoles stay relevant and last longer is a HUGE win for gamers.
