"We need a Node.js developer." Which one? The backend engineer who designs APIs and gets paged at night. The full-stack dev who ships a feature from the database to the button. The tooling engineer who keeps your build and CI alive. All three call themselves Node.js developers. All three are telling the truth. A post that doesn't say which one it wants gets all three, and usually not the one it needed. Hiring managers, which one did you actually need the last time you posted a Node role?

Why Eneba is my favorite on this list: most "Remote, Europe" posts don't say which countries. Eneba names all ten. That's the difference between "maybe I can apply" and "I can apply."

Every day, developers message me asking for a job. I'm not a hiring manager. I run a job board. And here's the uncomfortable part: Applying alone puts you in a pile of 500. Applying + a short note to the engineering lead who needs the help puts you in a conversation. Use job boards as a map: who's hiring, what they pay, where they can actually hire. Then find the person behind the role.

My React tip got 114,000 impressions. The 68 comments found 4 places where I was wrong: 1. My before/after types weren't the same component 2. A {...spread} skips the union check 3. Different behavior = different components, not a bigger union 4. Unions + generics + conditional types = slow compiler, unreadable errors Discriminated unions are still the right default for a few distinct states. They're just not a religion.

Last night I patched my own job board at 1 AM. Then I checked what else shipped this week. If you write JavaScript, this is your to-do list: → Next.js 16.4.1 / 15.5.28 Two critical unauthenticated RCEs (use cache + image optimization). No workaround for the first one. → Node.js 22.23.4 / 24.22.1 / 26.12.1 10 CVEs, including RCE in the Brotli decoder. → PHP 8.2.35+ (PHP2Shell) If your Vue or React front talks to a Laravel backend, this one is yours too. Check your Dockerfile base image. "It's in a container" doesn't mean it's patched.
