Yama, who remembers Mr Mushota Chama Chakomboka(MHRIEP)? 😂🇿🇲
Every election, the man would show up seeking the presidency, preaching that Zambia was sitting on a gold mine — literally! Gold, cobalt, lithium, oil and other riches. We laughed at him!
But his elections catchphrase was more legendary: “Vote for me first, and I’ll show you where all this wealth is!” 😂
Look at Zambia today… 👀
Were we laughing at the wrong man? 🇿🇲🤔

Have you ever wondered why Eastern Province has always had so many bicycles, with some even operating as taxis?
Well, here’s a little piece of Zambia’s forgotten industrial history! 👇🏾
Under Dr. Kenneth Kaunda’s Zambia, we used to manufacture EAGLE BICYCLES right here at home! 🇿🇲
And these weren’t your ordinary bicycles! They came equipped with a pump, a spanner and tyre-tube patches. Talk about being built for the long haul! 😂🚲
Those things were SO TOUGH that one bicycle could serve a grandfather, his son and even his grandson! 🤣🔥
Imagine buying a bicycle today and your great-grandchildren still fighting over who gets to ride it! 😂😂
Yama, we didn’t just ride bicycles back then… WE MANUFACTURED THEM!

🇿🇲 Yama, before Shoprite, Cheers, pick ñ pay and today’s supermarkets, in Kaunda days we had shopping memories built around ZCBC and Mwaiseni Stores.
📍 ZCBC used to be at the current Shoprite Cairo Road location!
Mwaiseni on Cairo Road was more than a shop to many Lusaka residents — it was an experience, complete with an escalator!
As we approach Independence Day, let's revisit our past glory. 🇿🇲

Yama! 🇿🇲🔥 Did you know that in Kaunda’s Zambia under INDECO we assembled Land Rovers, Fiat vehicles and manufactured Dunlop tyres right here at home?
We had the vision.
We had the ambition.
We had industries creating jobs and building our economy.
Why can’t we do it again? 🤔
Let’s revive Kaunda’s blueprint: industries in every province, jobs for our youth, and a Zambia that manufactures instead of merely importing.
Take a listen and 🇿🇲 #GROWZAMBIA

🇿🇲 DID YOU KNOW? KK’s iconic Kaunda suits had a Luanshya connection! 👀🔥
They were made by Serios International, a once-thriving Zambian clothing chain so established that it reportedly had a store in London and exported suits around the world! 🌍👔
From Luanshya to the world — Zambia had serious style and industry!

Ever wondered how the name “Kaunda suits” came about?
The story behind that iconic Zambian fashion statement is one worth hearing! 👀🔥
Forget the rumours. Hear it straight from the horse’s mouth! 🎙️🇿🇲

Before Energizer and Duracell, we had SPARK batteries, proudly manufactured in Mansa! 🔋
Those batteries powered our torches, radios and other appliances. When they went flat, we put them in the sun ☀️ and gave them another chance at life!
And when all else failed? We hit them, made dents all round, and somehow they roared back to life! 😂😂
SPARK batteries were not just batteries; they were survivors! 🇿🇲❤️
