I consider this one of Malfoid's most important maturing moments. The Buckbeak scene happens as in canon. She runs crying to her dad. But Lucius overreacts. She expected him to throw his weight around, make people apologize and grovel, not sign a death warrant. Her actions had consequences far more extreme than she expected and now the adults were making the decisions and it was all out of her hands. From this she learned the lesson that maybe there are some things her father SHOULDN'T hear about.
