I remember when my nephew was suspended from school for two weeks after a coach caught him kissing another boy in the locker room after sports. He was only 16years old and the other boy about the same age. His parents were on a 2 weeks vacation, so I was the adult responsible for him. The school called me, and when I arrived, the administration explained what had happened. They told me he would be suspended for two weeks. My nephew sat beside me, completely silent, looking as though he was waiting for me to condemn him too. On our way home, I finally asked him why he has not said a word. He looked at me and asked, “Are you going to tell Mum and Dad? Are you disappointed in me?” That question broke my heart. He was more afraid of losing my love than the suspension itself. I told him, “I'm not disappointed in you. Nothing about this changes how much I love you.” He burst into tears. In that moment, I realized he did not need another adult judging him. He needed someone to make him feel safe. And I promised myself he would never have to question whether he was loved in my presence, afterall i am an adult gay myself and I know what its like to feel this way.

TALK ABOUT STANDARDS 🤦: Some gay men have high standards for a partner but have very little to offer themselves.

Gay men in their 40's, what is one advice you would give to gay men currently in their 20's?

THANK GOD I AM GAY😂😭 Being a straight guy has to be so easy. Buy 3 Tshirt, 2 boxers and a pair of sneakers, rotate them every week and call it a wardrobe.

Unpopular opinion: Why do some gay men struggle to be satisfied with dating just one man? You meet someone you genuinely like, the connection is there, and things seem to be going well. Yet, some people still feel the need to keep entertaining other options. Is it the fear of missing out? The desire for constant attention? Or have dating apps made it so easy to believe that someone better is always one swipe away? Of course, not every gay man wants monogamy, and there is nothing absolutely wrong with that. But if you agree to date one person, shouldn't honesty and commitment mean something? Are we struggling to find the right man, or struggling to be content with the man we have found?🤷

Homosexuality actually didn't make it into the 10th commandment. So clearly god is so unbothered about two men loving each other.

Homophobia scares me all the time. Imagine being an amazing child ,sibling, grandkid, cousin, nephew, neighbor ,a friend and none of it matters the moment they find out your are gay. Like everything you have ever being to them gets erased over 'one truth'. That is not love, that is control.

GAY PASTORS CAN DO BETTER 😭 My best friend's nephew told me something that genuinely left me speechless. He said he matched with a man on Grindr who started flirting with him and eventually asked him out. The shocking part? The man was his pastor, who apparently had no idea he was talking to one of his own church members. What made it even crazier was that this same pastor regularly stood on the pulpit condemning gay relationships, calling gay men sinners, and preaching against everything he pursued privately. My friend's nephew said he didn't even know whether to laugh or feel disappointed. When they finally met, my friend's nephew revealed he was one of their members in church and reminded him of how he constantly talked bad about gay men while preaching. He was speechless, tried to defend himself. He said he had to put on a vibrant show, else his preaching will look weak. Knowing fully well that most Christians find it uncomfortable about the gay lifestyle, he would preach against it to make people relate with his pastorial ministration. Every Sunday, he had to sit in church and listen to the same man condemn people like him, while knowing what had happened on Grindr. Imagine preaching against gay men in public, then sliding into one of their DMs in private. 😭💀 What bothers me more: the hypocrisy, or the fact that some people feel comfortable condemning others for something they're secretly exploring themselves?

MAYBE I DID THE RIGHT THING AFTERALL? I remember how i met a man who was 10years older than me. He was sweet, caring, and honestly, I liked him more than I expected. He wanted us to date, but no matter how much I liked him, I could not picture us being a couple. I was comfortable being his friend, but he wanted more. When I refused to be his date, he decided he could not keep talking to me anymore. Just like that, I lost not only the chance of something romantic but also a friendship I genuinely valued. The painful part is that I still like him. I just could not give him the kind of love he wanted from me. This happened a long time btw.. But as time grows, and I kept experiencing life with much older people, I realized it would have cost me nothing to have actually dated him back then. The older they are, the more value they bring into your life. But I just wasn't mentally prepared at that time and age. Was I wrong for refusing to date someone I liked, knowing I could only offer him friendship? 💔
