Just got my gym space finished. My mission to be in the best shape of my life at 60 has begun! I'll be 60 this year, so I have a year to do it. 💪 LFG!
Replying to @jerryteixeira
I just finished converting the back 12 feet of my shipping container/warehouse into a gym. I haven't been able to really lift in years, so I'm out of condition. Still working on figuring out how much I can lift, and getting my balance and form back so I can lift heavy again.

Unfortunately, many people 50+ already have some degree of heart disease and are being told to eat less meat and fat, because outdated faulty data claims red meat is bad for us. Cutting back on red meat as we get older just makes health decline faster.
Older muscle needs more protein at a meal to get the same building response as younger muscle. When the two were compared, older men needed about 1.7 times as much protein per kilogram of body weight before muscle building reached its peak. This is part of why people lose muscle with age even when they think they're eating enough, because a serving that works fine for a younger person can fall short for an older one. After about 60, I'd aim for a generous serving of protein at every meal, roughly 30 to 40 grams for most adults, and I'd pair it with lifting.

Can Fatty acids and Ketone Bodies Fuel Cancer? Many people claim that some cancers, especially prostate cancer, can use fatty acids and ketone bodies for energy (ATP production) and that ketogenic metabolic therapy will not work for cancers that can use fatty acids for energy. Research shows that all major cancers depend on the oxygen independent fermentation of the sugar glucose and the amino acid glutamine for energy. Multiple defects in the structure and function of cancer cell mitochondria are responsible for the dependency on fermentation for energy (doi.org/10.1007/s10863-025-1…). These mitochondrial defects reduce energy through oxygen-driven respiration (OxPhos) even in the presence of oxygen thus creating the well-documented addiction of cancer cells to glucose and glutamine for growth. Cancer cells need glucose and glutamine not only to produce energy but also for the synthesis of RNA & DNA. Fatty acids and ketone bodies require oxidation in functional mitochondria for energy production and cannot be fermented or used for RNA or DNA synthesis as can glucose and glutamine. Consequently, fatty acids and ketone bodies cannot replace glucose and glutamine as fuels for ATP synthesis in cancer (doi.org/10.1016/j.isci.2020.…). Fatty acids often accumulate in the cancer cell cytoplasm as lipid droplets because they cannot be effectively oxidized for energy. Please see the beautiful pictures of lipid droplet accumulation in different cancers (rdcu.be/dIhNT). It is important to know, however, that fatty acids can enhance mitochondrial uncoupling. Uncoupling is like pumping air into a tire that contains holes. Uncoupling increases oxygen consumption and the fermentation of glucose and glutamine thus making it appear as if cancer cells can use fatty acids for energy. No evidence has been presented showing that fatty acids or ketone bodies can drive dysregulated tumor cell growth in the absence of glucose and glutamine.

Earlier this week, I had the honor of a lifetime to meet with President Donald J. Trump as he signed two executive orders for American cattle ranchers related to: 1. Country of Origin Labeling 2. Combatting Predation 3. Competition & Accountability 4. Expanding Market Access POTUS is hearing our stories from cattle country, and this is the first time in my lifetime we have ever seen a president recognize our fight for transparency, free and fair markets, truth in labeling, and putting a stop to the madness that has chipped away at our liberties, our property rights, and our livelihoods for far too long. The reality is that although USA beef is highly desired here and around the world, the American cattle rancher has had to fight tooth and nail to continue to do what we do best — steward the land, raise our kids and cattle, and put beef on the dinner table. Despite the faith, spirit, grit, determination, work ethic, and resilience of the American cattle rancher, since 1980, we have lost a staggering 660,000 producers. Our nation’s beef herd has been decimated to a 75-year low. The average age of our rancher is pushing 60 years old. And our young people are struggling to enter this business because of the capital investments, financial risk, market volatility, labor requirements, and having to exist in a system where 82% of our beef supply is held captive by four major packers, two foreign owned. The American cattle rancher has slowly, but surely, been crushed — pushed off the land and out of business. This didn’t happen to us overnight. And neither will a solution. In the broader sense, these actions aren’t an overnight fix to the broken system that American beef cattle producers have had to operate under for so many years, but it’s a historic step in the right direction that we should all celebrate! Yesterday’s executive orders send a signal to cattle country that American cattle ranchers matter and USA beef should be at the center of the plate. That’s why the Trump administration’s AMERICA FIRST policies are a HUGE STEP to addressing the challenges we have faced for decades while offering the solutions and policies we have been working to implement for independent family farms and ranches who keep this nation free and fed. Exciting new trade deals. The end to the Green New Deal. Cracking down on lawfare and eminent domain abuses by overzealous bureaucrats. Rolling back regulations. Cutting red tape. Stopping WOTUS. New programs for young farmers and veterans. Fixing the death tax, so we can more easily pass down our ranches to the next generation. DOJ investigations on packers and retailers. Those are just a few of the very critical changes we have seen implemented in the last two years. And yesterday’s executive orders signed in the Oval Office were a great start to restoring confidence for the nation’s cattle ranchers to retain heifers and rebuild the herd. Let this sink in — In front of the mainstream media, we heard the leader of the free world talking about the packer monopoly; enforcing the Packers & Stockyards act; the importance of labeling our USA Beef through MCOOL; giving our consumers transparency about where their food comes from; giving our American ranchers the distinction they deserve in the meat case; allowing ranchers to protect their cattle from predatory wolves; promoting the need for more competition in processing to give ranchers more options; and ensuring we have the critical infrastructure needed to serve this country through additional small and mid-sized processors. I want to thank President Trump and Secretary Rollins for the opportunity to share my ranch story in the White House. It was a surreal moment as I considered my lifetime of work in ag policy coming together for this historic moment. (1 of 2) @POTUS @SecRollins @americaunwon @caseymurph1 @joethomas73 @yearlins

Just eat meat....it's THAT easy!
🥩 DAY 1,339 CARNIVORE 🥩 372 POUNDS DOWN. On January 1st, 2023, I made a decision that changed the trajectory of my life. 1,339 days later: ✅ 372 lbs lost ✅ Congestive heart failure — resolved ✅ Complications from my stroke — resolved ✅ 6 liters of supplemental oxygen — OFF OXYGEN ✅ Depression with suicidal ideation — resolved ✅ Crippling anxiety — resolved ✅ COVID lung complications — resolved ✅ Long COVID — resolved ✅ Reactive airway disease — resolved ✅ Sleep apnea — resolved ✅ Prediabetes & insulin resistance — resolved ✅ Metabolic disease — resolved ✅ Lymphedema symptoms — ~90% improved ✅ Gout — resolved ✅ Resting tachycardia — resolved ✅ Eating disorder — resolved I didn't start carnivore because I wanted abs. I started because I wanted my life back. I still have work to do. I'm still healing, still losing weight, still getting stronger, and still moving forward. But after 1,339 consecutive days of carnivore, I can look back at where I started and say: I'm not the same man who started this journey. 372 pounds gone. A life reclaimed. And I'm not finished yet. 🥩 Day 1,339. Keep going. #Carnivore #CarnivoreDiet #CarnivoreTransformation #WeightLossJourney #372PoundsDown #MetabolicHealth #Transformation #TheCarnivoreCure #KeepGoing

Meat heals!
I got trolled today by a very popular “Health Nut”. For eating fast food burgers while having stage 4 cancer. I combine my carnivore/keto diet w alternative treatment. “For me” it’s working! It bothers her that it works. But I’m going to keep sharing and not going to stop! 💪

Just try it for 30 days and see for yourself. All you can eat meat, what's not to like? 😀
RFK JR: “I try about everything. I tried peptides, I've tried stem cells, all kinds of supplements … The one thing that really was transformative for me was the carnivore diet. It changed everything overnight.”

This is why some carnivores see their A1c going up. You are getting healthier!
It happened to me. I went low carb after my heart attack. My fasting insulin dropped. My triglycerides fell. My inflammation markers improved. Everything was moving in the right direction. Then my HbA1c went up. My doctor looked concerned. The number said I was getting worse. But every other marker said I was getting healthier than I had ever been. Here is what nobody explains. HbA1c measures how much sugar has stuck to your red blood cells over their lifespan. Normal red blood cells live 90 to 120 days. The sicker you are, the shorter they live. In poorly controlled diabetics, red blood cells can die in as few as 81 days. When you clean up your diet, lower your insulin, and reduce inflammation, your red blood cells start living LONGER. Studies show they can live up to 145 days in healthy people. Longer living blood cells are exposed to glucose for more days. More days of exposure means more glycation. More glycation means a higher HbA1c reading. Your A1c went up because your blood cells stopped dying early. That is not a failure. That is your body healing.

Eating a big breakfast early in the morning was a game changer for me. More energy, better focus, better productivity.
Are you fasting the wrong way? Women have a stronger cortisol response in the morning than men, and it’s directly tied to hunger hormones. When you skip breakfast or push your first meal to noon, those hormones dysregulate for the rest of the day — driving carb cravings, afternoon crashes, and uncontrolled eating at night. The very opposite of what you’re trying to do. Research shows that women who broke their fast by 8AM and finished eating by 5PM had significantly better metabolic control than those eating in a compressed late window. You don’t need a 16 hour fast to get the benefits of autophagy, and you definitely don’t need to wait until noon to eat. Simply stop eating after dinner. That’s it. If you eat dinner at 6 and breakfast at 8, you’ve already done a 14 hour fast without skipping a single meal. Front load your food, eat earlier, and stop at night. You’ll sleep better, feel better, and lose weight without starving yourself. Full conversation with Dr. Stacy Sims is out now on The Dr. Hyman Show Podcast.

There is no money to be made on healthy people. There is no incentive to "find a cure". Healthy people don't need doctors or medicine, so lets keep them sick.
We have a sick care system where people get compensated more for keeping patients sick. We need to align the economic incentives with the outcome of good health for all Americans.

I haven't used salt in over 16 years. The main reason I stopped using it is because "The Bear" (IYKYK) said it ages your skin. So for vanity reasons, I stopped salting my meat. Giving up salt was another level of food freedom. I loved salt, I was, am addicted to it. I definitely ate more food if it was salted. I learned true hunger when I quit using it. I see so many "experts" claim you need more salt on a carnivore diet. That's a lie. You don't. I haven't had a chance to do a deep dive on this news article but it's just more shade on excessive salt use and premature aging.

Note: what I have been saying all along..... Calorie restriction will not help or prevent aging in healthy weight humans.
Sobering paper on aging Argues that basically every intervention known to extend lifespan only does so by preventing obesity. In other words, being lean and fit is not just 90% of slowing aging, but 100%. sciencedirect.com/science/ar…
