Honestly it was so refreshing to try this one. I loved the characters so much I still can’t get enough of them. I adored Lafiel and her relationship with Jinto. Watching them grow up through the war, the separations, the pride, and all the hardships was the best part. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique space opera. There’s no clean good side or bad side. It’s two kinds of people with completely different ideas about what a human life is supposed to be, both too proud of their own ideology to back down. That’s why the war keeps going. The soundtracks are beautiful, the ship designs are distinctive, and the fights were fun to watch, especially the way they use mines as this huge, almost ceremonial weapon of war. I honestly need more of this. I hope we get a new Banner of the Stars anime someday because I’m not ready to leave Lafiel and Jinto behind. I need to see them again!
