RIP Cliff Mason. One of the best to ever do it! Once a segment was "Masonized" you knew there was no editing left to be done. I don't work on Mad Money, but I'm close enough to the team to know that he was one of a kind, a legend. Only met him twice, briefly, but both times it was clear he was something special.
I will talk about the loss of my brilliant, irascible genius of my nephew, Cliff Mason, 21 years our head writer and only writer on tonight's show

Some serious economic misinformation to go with the antisemitism in this ad that blames Israel for the rising price of American eggs, bananas, healthcare - it falsely links American families’ grocery bills and healthcare costs to U.S. aid to Israel. - Aid to Israel is approximately 0.05% of federal spending - Most American military assistance to Israel goes to buy goods and services from U.S. defense contractors. - U.S. assistance is overwhelmingly military, not a direct subsidy for Israeli healthcare - most American bananas come from Guatemala, Ecuador, Costa Rica and Honduras and prices are rising because of El Niño.
You want to know what desperate looks like? Blaming the price of bananas on Israel. Consider this PAC ad just another example of scapegoating the Jewish state. At least we can thank them for a case study in antisemitism.

ICYMI, me and 75+ retired U.S. Generals reject claims that Israel committed genocide in Gaza.
Breaking: "As retired senior military leaders and legal experts, on this, the third anniversary of Hamas's October 7, 2023 brutal attack on Israel, we reject claims that Israel committed genocide in Gaza." @jinsadc I am honored to be a part of 76 retired U.S. officers (including 13 Generals, 27 Lieutenant Generals, 19 Major Generals, 5 Brigadier Generals) Refuting the Genocide Allegation Against Israel. jinsa.org/wp-content/uploads… "The precedent established today regarding Israel will shape the conditions under which American forces fight tomorrow. Protecting civilians and preserving the ability of our nation to defend itself requires us to defend the truth when the laws of war are being distorted to make false charges of genocide."

Well if it wasn’t clear already… now it should be. $META views glasses as a long term iPhone replacement. And while considering it that today is silly. I don’t think it will be in the next 5-10 years. Time will tell. 🤷‍♂️🙂 Wonderful creativity here.

I feel like Alex Karp doesn’t get nearly enough credit for how boldly he stood with Israel after October 7. The next day, October 8, Palantir took out a full-page ad in The New York Times: “Palantir stands with Israel.” At a moment when most CEOs were saying as little as possible, Karp chose to make his position unmistakable. And he didn’t stop at words. Palantir sent engineers to Israel, brought its board to Tel Aviv, and continued supporting Israel’s defense. That took conviction. And it paid off! stock is up 1100% in 3 years.

ONE YEAR AGO, Captain Smit Machchhar was asked what's a bigger high: A smooth landing, or an on-time arrival? His answer: "None. Safe. You don't have to think about on time. They've hired other people to take care of that." "A positive landing. Safe landing where I'm supposed to land. If it turns out smooth, perfect." Today, stabbed by his co-pilot, he still got the cockpit door open so passengers could stop the hijacking. He saved the lives of all 174 passengers, and they had a safe landing. Thank you, Captain Machchhar.

Hero
Had this man not found the courage to fight back after being repeatedly attacked with an axe capable of cutting through metal—while bleeding profusely—and had the presence mind to trigger the hijack/emergency code, initiate the emergency response and open the cockpit door to allow passengers to assist him, the aircraft’s subsequent dive could have had catastrophic consequences. Had that aircraft not been recovered, the geopolitical consequences for the Middle East could have been profound and potentially irreversible. Sometimes history turns on the courage, resilience and presence of mind of one person. Yes. One Indian man.

$META Connect is still underway. Initial thought 40 minutes in: Meta is taking no prisoners. Competition should be concerned. The ecosystem they are building out is incredible! Given how fast one can become ingrained within it, the early mover advantage is material. While smartphones are still the primary devices for on-the-go computing, there is no denying the advantages the glasses form factor has when it comes to enhancing an agentic AI personal assistant. Really impressed with the presentation, and the addition of Muse finally has me interested in the glasses, as I think of how much more it could do with a pair of eyes and ears.

Dana White says Mark Zuckerberg is an animal and reveals Meta board meetings go from 9am to 6pm, dinner, then another three hours, extending into two days "I'm on the board of Meta and I just got home last night from a Meta board meeting, and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made was when Mark Zuckerberg called me and I said yes to that." "And you sit in this room, and not only the people that he runs through the room all day, which are some of their high-level employees there, but the rest of the board, you literally have the smartest people in the world trying to tackle problems that are, you know, a whole another level." "There's levels to life and to business." "So Zuckerberg is an animal, okay. These board meetings start at nine o'clock in the morning, they go till six, then you go to dinner and it's basically another three hours of the board meeting, right?" "And every time we'll be in there, you know, two days in the room, and every time I walk out of those board meetings, I'm so fired up and inspired by the other board members and the people who work at Meta."
Mark Zuckerberg: the whole industry treats AI agents as a single-player game but the real unlock is agents interacting with each other, which Meta has been running internally "Right now I think most of the industry is thinking about agents as like a single player game, right? It's like you have your agent and you use it." "And there are going to be all these interesting things that basically you can do by having the agents interact with each other." "And we already have all these interesting examples internally where people have their agents interacting with each other." "This isn't, like, for the most part rolling out in this release, but it's going to be like an important part of how I think this works over time. As more of the people who you know start using Muse, it just gets better."

The cybersecurity selloff earlier this year will be remembered as one of the greatest, most obvious (to many, only in hindsight) buying opportunities of all time.
And once a Mac is exploited, you can interact with any of the users "connected" devices also running Muse. ...meaning you remotely task their mobile (iOS) Muse client ...invisibly 📲🔓👀 What can you do? Welll, some very neat iOS stuff!

Well Muse is killing it for $META. Outpacing US/Canada iOS ChatGPT downloads by almost 40% over the first 12 days (per Appfigures). But even more encouraging? Consumers are building habit a lot faster. Nearly 450K U.S. daily actives in 10 days compared to ChatGPT needing 7 weeks to get there (per Sensor Tower). I get it... Meta has the massive brand & distribution that ChatGPT didn't enjoy. But it's not like they piggybacked on Instagram sign-ups the way they did with Threads. And ChatGPT was arguably the most successful consumer launch ever. So... this is still impressive & highly encouraging. And if you're one of those early daily actives (like I am), it makes perfect sense.

This will be a bigger battle than anyone anticipates. It is only a matter of time before there is an Apple and Google version of Muse and possibly TikTok, in addition to the frontier LLM agents. Maybe a commerce agent from Amazon. Every app that is a services, marketplace or commerce app will need to existentially decide to open APIs for consumer agents to interact. Smaller players have no choice. Ad revenues are more than transaction fees, either the consumer benefits or distribution aggregators will demand a higher transaction fare. I know I don't want an agent for each app. I would like my agent to be able to do tasks I require. We can already see consumers getting trained on that behavior by the frontier labs. Those with network moats - restaurants, groceries, drivers might be able to withstand for a while, over time convenience and end user experience will win and they will have to align. Content moats (protected by copyright) could decide to allow agents or chose to hold on to the consumer interaction. I suspect other than the feeling of a lack of control, it won't change their economics. Commoditized back ends will need to worry, insurance, tickets, hotels, services - if they don't adapt new players will.
Amazon cuts off Muse. While I am bullish Meta and Muse, I think many people are overlooking the digital knife fight that’s about to occur Nobody wants to get commoditized or layered here. Let the games begin
