I've had the privilege to work with Zoe on one of her programs & learned a lot as an interviewee. The resulting program was brilliant. I still marvel at how Zoe condensed many hours of interviews (not just me) into an hour. Her course could open a new world for those who write.

#ThroughHerEyes The murder of Ugandan Olympian Rebecca Cheptegei at the hands of her boyfriend, got a single line on the news this morning. Let's make more of it here. Another beautiful and talented woman's life snuffed out by violence. #VAWG

Great news! Congratulations to @ZoeComyns You can listen back here: Queen of Nightclubs | The Lyric Feature | The Lyric Feature - RTÉ lyric fm (rte.ie) @LyricFeature
My @RTElyricfm feature 'Queen of Nightclubs' was selected for the @PrixMarulic this year. Sadly I can't go to the magical Croatian island of Hvar this week, but I trust the brilliant subject of my doc Kate Meyrick to represent herself: prix-marulic.hrt.hr/main-inf…

#ThroughHerEyes Does anyone know if there is a tribute/plaque in Cork to Ethel Lilian Boole, the first Irish woman to sell books by the million? She wrote the international bestseller 'The Gadfly'. More below, or listen to @ZoeComyns excellent documentary: rte.ie/radio/lyricfm/clips/2…

Anne Bonny set sail last night. @NualaNiC looks for women in her work who've been "marginalised, smudged, male gazed into our consciousness," and her books are, as Mia Gallagher said last night, voyages to discover, "what can make a person most truly themselves." Seaborne Ahoy!

What a great start to the life of this novel by @sineadgleeson. Huge turnout and massive sense of warmth in the room for Sinéad at last night's launch. Islands, sounds, nature, art and community - it all beckons. Grab a copy of Hagstone and settle in.

1/3 I have just noticed that this is for sale in Robertstown. I grew up* on the grounds (to the left and side in the photos). *We didn't own it...we just ran a falconry centre there in the 1980s. The hotel was vacant by the end of our living there: myhome.ie/commercial/brochur…

2/2 I am absolutely flooded with memories of my life on the grounds and sitting on its steps. It was even open for a v short time (not as a hotel, but I remember a craft fair in there at one point) but sadly it was mostly boarded up. It is such a beautiful building.

3/3 The hotel gets a mention in a piece I wrote for @gorse_journal a few years ago. @RTE_Culture also put the piece online so you can have a read if you like. After almost half a century of if being vacant I hope it gets a new life: rte.ie/culture/2018/0102/922…
