The Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), has neutralised 16 suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters in coordinated air and artillery strikes on three terrorist locations in the Tunbunma area of South Lake Chad.
The operation, conducted between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on 26 October 2026, followed intelligence reports indicating the presence of key terrorist leaders and fighters in the area.
Battle Damage Assessment indicated that 16 ISWAP fighters were neutralised across the targeted locations. Those reportedly killed included Abu Zubiru, an Arab national, and two associates identified as Baana Nglewa and Jindullah Sadiq, alongside other fighters.
Additionally, Abu Saleem, identified as the Wali of Tunbunma, reportedly sustained severe injuries alongside seven other fighters.
The operation underscores OPHKβs sustained offensive against terrorist networks in the Lake Chad Basin, targeting their enclaves and leadership structures to degrade their operational capabilities.

No matter how you want to put it, NELFUND loan relieved a lot of parents. Some parents have 3 to 4 children in UNI. They donβt have to worry about where the next tuition fee is coming from.
Iβm not supporting TINUBU. Iβm just saying he really made a great impact on education.
Students no longer have reasons to drop out now that the fee is even higher, but thousands of students still dropped out when it was affordable.

The moment someone dares to commend the government for doing something right, we become bitter, resort to insults, and attack them for speaking up.
We may disagree on many things, but we must learn to acknowledge progress wherever we see it.

OPERATION ENDURING PEACE CLARIFIES BASSA INCIDENT
Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE responded to a distress call over sporadic gunfire and the reported killing of a resident, Adamu Suleiman, in Bassa LGA, Plateau State, on October 20.
According to the Joint Task Force, troops deployed to assess the situation, protect lives and prevent further escalation. It acknowledged tensions during an encounter with police personnel and said the matter is being addressed through appropriate command and inter-agency channels.
The task force reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, cooperation among security agencies and the protection of lives and property, while urging the public and media to verify information before sharing unconfirmed reports.
