Historically trans people were oracles and prophets. I was talking to another trans lawyer in The Fight and thinking about all it’s taken from us and it came to me. I’m a goddamn warrior. My community suffers much but we know what we’re about.

For what it’s worth, before the midterms I had accepted a pretty bleak outlook on American LGBTQ rights. I’ll always keep hope but I was ready to keep fighting in a very dark landscape. We are seeing cracks in their attacks on us and we should recognize we’ve gained ground.

Chris Beck contrasted the beliefs of LGBTQ+ people with his belief in Jesus, and spoke of how he is serving as a witness, in the Christian sense. He hopes to save trans youth by showing them the love of Jesus. But... this isn't what the right wing press is covering.
