@UKLabour Member of Parliament for Buckingham, Bletchley, Tattenhoe, Winslow and the many villages in between. 🇬🇧

Last week, I delivered my maiden speech. Besides expounding the joys of Buckingham & Bletchley, I recognised those who'd helped me - but most importantly told our young people that regardless of your background, Britain is still a country where you can make it if you work hard.

The man spent an hour watching TV with his mate to help raise some money for cancer. Maybe chill out?
'Is that a really good use of his time?' 'Raising money for a cancer charity?' The Green Party's @floschechter brands Andy Burnham going on Gogglebox as 'ridiculous'.

African voices should be at the heart of decisions about Africa’s future. This principle is the bedrock of the partnerships that the UK is building. Great to chat with @TheAnitaErskine in Bangkok.
✅ The power of campaigning ✅ Africa's untapped potential ✅ Women's liberation @kirstyjmcneill and @TheAnitaErskine talk about it all. Watch the full chat on our YouTube channel, link below.

British firms are fed up with pointless paperwork and form-filling. Today we are cutting unnecessary bureaucracy, reducing costs and giving businesses the breathing space they need to invest, innovate and create good jobs.

This is the story of our NHS, and this is the story we should tell our kids of our Britain. 👇
World-leading cardiac surgeon Asif Hasan was surrounded by the children who received the gift of life thanks to his unerring skills at the emotional climax of another memorable Pride of Britain ceremony. 🥹 Now 70 years old, Mr Hasan has just retired after 35 years of service at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne, but just after receiving his Lifetime Achievement Award, he had an extra special surprise: a cast of patients who would not be alive without him. ❤️

Pensioner poverty has halved in the past 30 years, as the shadow work and pensions secretary @Helen_Whately claimed. But how much of this was down to the Conservatives? Almost all the fall she’s talking about happened under Labour. fullfact.org/economy/helen-w…

Investing in communities across the country, backing British businesses & helping savers plan for their future. Good to be able to celebrate the vital role of the UK’s investment management sector in my address at the Investment Association’s Annual Dinner last night.    Thank you to John Owen & Ann Prendergast for the invitation.

Love this.
Honoured to attend the Speaker’s Black History Month Reception and welcome service personnel to Parliament. Representation matters. As the former Chair of the RAF Ethnic Minority Network, I am always proud to see former colleagues engaging with BHM and our Parliament. ❤️

To be honest when it comes to the Tories I’m equally irritated by loud noise on passing bandwagons
🚨 WATCH: Kemi Badenoch says Andy Burnham is worrying about loud music on trains as Britain spends more on interest than schools, Army and the police combined Burnham: "I'm not going to apologise for doing the small things that help people have better lives" #PMQs

I never shy away from discussing controversial topics, but my @UKLabour govt, this PM will NEVER tolerate racism to lead the way in our politics. 👇
Labour MP @zubirahmed asks the Prime Minister about concerns raised by a recent ITV investigation into Reform UK. "It is incumbent on all parties represented in this House to root out the politics of poison," Andy Burnham says. #PMQs

Unlocking private investment in emerging economies is vital to accelerating resilient & sustainable growth.    Very good to reconvene with leading UK investors via the EMDE Taskforce, alongside @Ed_Miliband & @kirstyjmcneill, to explore the practical solutions that can mobilise private capital flows at scale 👇
Mobilising investment in emerging economies can support clean growth and stability while creating opportunities for UK investors. Great to join @Ed_Miliband and @LucyRigby in meeting leading UK investors, exploring how we can break down barriers and unlock more private capital.

The country is going down the pan and our Prime Minister is faffing around tweaking parking tickets. What is the point in Burnham if he refuses to touch the big issues like the ballooning benefits bill?

I want Britain’s energy wealth to spark a new wave of clean power. Our decision to approve Jackdaw alongside the new Energy Wealth Fund means we invest in green transition and benefit from our existing natural resources.

In Manchester, a city at the heart of the Industrial Revolution, @KanishkaNarayan visited No. 10 North. Today, AI is bringing another wave of change. We need to shape it for working people, starting by bringing government closer to people and places whose futures depend on it.
