New (foldable) Iphone duo is new internet sensation and I honestly I don’t care wheather this new groundbreaking phone or not but what does interests me the most is its the internal design engineering and especially the hinge liquid metal hinge components amorphous alloy that's stronger than titanium, more elastic, and holds its shape under repeated stress without fatigue the crease on the apple fold is reportedly a quarter the depth of the galaxy fold 7 the hinge alone costs around $150 in components this is the part that interests me not the software not the camera the fact that apple spent years on a mechanical problem how do you fold a glass display thousands of times without it showing and came out the other side with liquid metal and stress distribution engineering as the answer that's apple doing what apple does obsessing over the part nobody else solved cleanly
